Distance run today, we ran by the gazebo in highland. I love running in the rain so that was cool. Average pace 6:58. We are running the Dream mile and a half tomorrow. It's a mile and a half time trial, and it has a decent uphill, downhill, then a long gradual uphill, and finishes off with a monster uphill that makes you want to die. It's gonna be dope.

Shout out to Matt because me and him had the funnest warm up ever today. I dont know what happened we just kept making jokes and it was funny.

Shout out to all the guys because we shared motivational quotes before we left for our run, and I threw down my all time favorite. (if you want to see it, go look at my instagram biography) We got super hyped and started dunking on each other, it was sick. Then the friking sprinters made fun of us and I wanted to kill em. But then @bwt.2015 gave me a shout out on twitter and it was sick.

Shout out to the ACT because we are taking it tomorrow and I should be studying for it..... #faithfulblogger #theblogismypassion

PM: Well the ACT went well, I bombed the reading section tho. So today we ran the dream mile and half in the snow and it was interesting. I am in shape to pr, but it would have been very hard to with the bad conditions, so going over the overpass I didn't even care that we were going slow. I drafted till the cemetery. Matt ran awesome and was leading the entire first mile. I give him props because he wasn't a baby like me and went closer to the right pace. Me and Ryan made a move and pulled up beside Matt once the gradual hill started. We stayed in that position till the start off Airport. I pulled ahead so I could get on the inside. Towards the top I knew Matt and Ryan were still there so I surged to gain some ground and then when it started to flatten out I gave it my all. At the end my legs had so much lactic acid (or however you spell it) in them it was disturbing, and my lungs/throat were on fire. My finishing time was 8:47. My PR is 8:28 i think maybe 8:24, this last cross country season. I knew I wouldn't be close but I dont really care cuz I probably ran the fastest up the hill I ever had. I had an orthodontist appointment so I ran str8 back to the high school. Got 5.6 miles

Later PM: Ran 2.4 with Duke to get to 8 for the day

HUGE SHOUT OUT TO COACH JAMIE!!!!! cuz she got a blog! She hasn't posted anything yet but go check her out @CoachJamie

hahah I put in some of the stuff for her, cuz she's way busy and I wanted her to get one, so I put in 5k finish as her goal just to be funny, and she kept it there haha. Thats funny because her 5k pr is 16:08! H*cka Fast!

Easy distance run today. We ran by chicken nugget and sir matthews house, to this dirt area. We tried to run on it, but it has snowed recently so it was muddy as heck so we all got our shoes dirty. We stopped a lot before we turned around so on the way back I averaged 6:34 and it felt good. Rest of this week is speed yay.

Like matt and chicken nug I also signed up for the AF canyon half marathon this summer. They're both going down

5x500's. First 400 at goal 800 pace, then all out last 100. 4 minute rest. My splits for the 400's 64, 63, 66, 65, 64. This is not my goal 800 pace, if I hit my 800 goal pace then it should be faster, because this workout is 2500 meters long. So it was good. Legs were jelloish and I felt queezy so it wasn't easy. We finished up miles after at a 6:49 avg

Got to 3.5 and then did whistle hills. It is 15 seconds all out up a gradual hill in the cemetary. Jog back, then do it again for 20 and 25 seconds. This is 1 set, we did three. Normally we have a little rest in between sets but because its awesome week we didn't have any rest. Well before the last one we shared some inspirational quotes so that gave us some recovery. Then I finished up my miles, my knee was hurting so i'll roll it out some more. I went hard #gobigorgohome

Tonight is MORP so thats cool, ol @thomasheaps is in my group

Today was the final day of awesome week, our third speed workout in a row. My legs were (and still are) sore from the other workouts. Today it was 20x 400's. They were in sets of 5. The first five at 5k pace with 45 seconds rest, then 2 mile pace with 1 minute rest, then current mile pace 90 seconds rest, then goal mile pace with 2 minutes rest. We wore spikes on the last 5. My average for the sets were something like 80, 74, 70, 64. By the end it was hard, but my last one was a 60 so that was cool. We ran half backwards to switch it up a lil bit. Our first meet is on Tuesday. I'm doing the 800 and maybe a 4x4 because of my killer sprinting speed

Just wanted to do some feel good shout outs today

Shout out to Conner Mantz for giving up 2 years of training to go on a mission , and to Preston Warbeast Warby for saying some wise words on the sabbath. (and congrats to him for having visibal monthly viewers now, keep killing it)

Thanks to Controversial Cam for putting me in his fav blogs, I should have put him in my fav blogs earlier but I got it done. His friends are savages haha for calling him out on the blog haha lol

Shout out to one of the kids that called Cam out. His name is Paul. Last year I got 10:00 at the Pine View invite in the two mile and Paul was bye me the entire time. Back then I just thought of him as the kid from Pine View with really long hair but I found his instagram (@paulgaona) so thats cool, I actually know who he is now. I also found Warbeast's insta (@the_warbeast) Nick Hill (@nike___hill) and Controversial Cams @cameron9brown so give em a follow.

We are going to the pine view invite once again so all of my pine view boyz better hang with all us Lehi guys!

Also shout out to Sarah! for committing to SUU! She'll be teammates with Maddie Kauffman who also committed this week so congrats to her! You guys are gonna kill it!

Shout out to me cuz I finally watched the Dark Night, it was crazy. I'm halfway thru the dark night rises

*EVERYONE LOOK AT MY BLOG AND NOT WARBEASTS*

(you are going down warbeast) #shewillbemine

Today we had our first meet, a dual against LP. A few of us ran a few miles around the town a little before the meet started. Once it was time to warm up we did 2 miles. I wasn't feeling the greatest. I got a good start, mostly because I pushed Thomas and Galen out of the way, I apologize. Me and Sean went thru the 400 at 61, we cruised till about 100 left. Sean got 2:05, I got 2:06. Then Brady, Thomas, and Matt did well and ran an 07 08 and 09.

To cool down and get some miles, Team Pre hoped in the 2mile. At the start I was going really slow, slower than everybody else and I was struggling. But I felt better and finished at tempo run pace, overall time 11:51 I think. So after that I got my spikes on and Brady, Matt, Me, and Sean did a 4x400. Lehi had a bunch of other teams competing as well, with like strrt and thom. I did not feel very good, but I got the baton just a few meters back of a Lone Peak guy and just tried to stay on his tail. I ran a 57 unofficial split, and thats cool cuz I beat Matt and Sean (suck it) Brady did well on the lead off and also ran a 57. Cooled down half mile.

Before we did the 800, me Matt Brady and Maddy did the shotput... ya thats right. Matt and Brady killed it and got 28 and 27 feet, then there was me and Maddy. I got 19'8 and Maddy got 19 even. It was a very nice pr for me. At PG last year I got 14-15 feet. And I beat Maddy so at least I beat someone, I got last out of the guys. Next year, cuz I only come out for shotput once a season, I'll go for over 20.

I just took an ice bath so thats cool. Shout out to Galen, Justin, and Jamison cuz I saw them and talked to em a lil. Davis should be sick next week, in case you were wondering im not running the 4x400 again

Shout out to Warbeast for passing me in monthly views #cantstopwontstop #AA

Warm up then very good speed workout. 3 sets of 400,800,400. 4's at mile pace 8's at 2 mile pace. I can't remember all of my times but my averages were 68-69 and 2:30ish. The wind made it slightly more difficult but we're most likely gonna have wind at region so whateva. Then we finished our miles by vets park. The training room was open when we finished for the first time in months so me, Thomas, Maddy, and Emily took an ice bath.

Congrats to Aubrey Argyle for getting an all-american 4th place finish at New Balance Nats in the 5k. 16:50! Good luck to their guys 4xMile who run tomorrow

10 mile distance run at distance pace. I ran while my dad biked beside me cuz he's old and slow. 1.5 warmup then I ran by pioneer crossing and did a 4.25 out and back and felt good. On the way out average pace was a 6:09, on the  way back the legs were getting a little tired because of the fast pace at the start but the pace was still quick and finished with a 6:13 average pace for the eight and a half miles, not including the warm up.

Plans for next week. Get a little speed in on monday, pre meet on tuesday, and then go kill the mile and 4x800 at Davis! Good job to Davis' 4xmile team for getting second at New Balance Nationals with a 17:12 (or something close to that) and then a few hours later they ran the 4x8 and won first place! 1st in the nation! I cant remember their exact time but it was sub 7:50 again. We'll have to go beat their time at the invite in a few days ;)

Shout out to Thomas because his run today was at 8 minute pace, and I'm putting this in on his computer. We just had some cool orange juice stuff and hung with his sis Jackie, now were home alone doing hoodrat stuff while they go run errands.

First outdoor meet of the year today! So that was cool. 2 mile warm up with Garek and the gang. Sadly he wasn't there to run the mile with me and sean #cryingemoji He prolly was afraid i'd beat him...... I got out good. My place didn't change much the entire race. Until the third or fourth lap I was in 5th place, drafting off of Camren Todd from Davis. So first lap was 65. Good. Second and third laps 70's. Not good. I could tell the leaders picking it up on the second lap and instead of surging past Camren and going with them I was a wimp and I stayed behind him. Josh Ward and Adam Haynes ended up getting 4:27's and I would have been close to that if I went with them. I didn't want to be going into the wind. But excuses excuses, wont let that happen again. Last lap was 63. Good. Finished fourth overall, so that was cool. I pr'd by about a second and a half, I was expecting more. Cooled down 3 miles.

Warm up of .75 or something for the 4x800. Originally Dylan was going to run it but he hurt his knee in the hurdles so Chris Kauffman ran our lead leg. He got a 2:08 and gave the baton to Brady in first so great job to him. Brady got the baton to me in first and ran a 2:06. I was all alone by that point so it was very hard to pace. Im good at pacing for other races but 800 is hard for me, especially when I had no idea if I went out to hard or if the guy was gaining on me. Pushed hard and got 2:05. Sean ran well got 2:05 and we won! Overall time was a little slow, 8:25. We'll have to see if we run it at Pine View.

Overall the meet was good, got some decent times. Now I can focus on good hard training for a week and a half and then were down to St. Geezy for the 2mile! I'm ready to throw down a killer time! (and beat warbeast) speaking of that, me and matt slayed AA today. Matt could hardly contain his excitement in her presence. I thought he was gonna pee his pants.

Distance run to recover from the meet today. It was a very refreshing run because we didn't have to push the pace, and we ran to Thoms uncles house and I had never been there. I like doing routes ive never run before. It doesn't happen very often after 3 cross country seasons and 2 track seasons. Average pace 7 minutes. Tomorrow we have a tempo run so looking forward to that.

Shout out to all the upsets in March Madness. Good job to those guys who don't just give up cuz they're a higher seed.

1.25 warm up. Ran out 1 mile. Then 6 miles of tempo. We switched off from 5:27-5:42 and 6:10-6:30 each mile. We ran 3 more out and back, so then 1 after coming back at whatever pace. My times were 5:30, 6:29, 5:31, 6:22, 5:30, 6:15. It was a tuff workout but I felt good while I was doing it. I feel like I hit some solid times so I'm ready for what lies ahead. Shout out to Sean because we pulled away from the group on the last 2 and were pushing each other and killing it. Shout out to Matt because he had a very good workout. Something about Matt, he always kills the tempo runs, he's good at those kind of runs. He also is opening his mission call tonight so thats sick, check his blog out the next few days to see where he goes.

But i felt good and like conner mantz said screw it. But i didn't die off and kept the pace consistent. Other than the warm up every mile was 6:48 or faster. Weather was awesome, got hecka tan. Warm up 3 miles and then a little before the duel meet started we had a little speed workout for the guys racing at Pine View. Matt's and I, because our main race is the 2 mile, was 6x400 @ 2mile pace for saturday with 90 seconds recovery. I went faster than 2 mile pace. My times were 70,71,71,70,70,69. On saturday I'm hoping for 8x400's at 72 second average pace with 0 seconds rest because that would qualify me for state. 9:36.95 baby, time to beat! I was looking at who is in it and theres a few guys from timp who are fast, and some of my boys from Woods Cross so we could get a nice pack going and get all of us some killer times. The 400's today felt pretty good. Not a walk in the park but I don't think I was exerting myself too much. After we finished up 10 and then me and matt took an ice bath together. Totes presh. jake k. So on the way to the Pine View invite we stopped twice and each time we stopped I got a little jog around the parking lot in to try and make my legs the least sore possible from the bus ride. Once we arrived at the lovely Pine View high school I did pre meet for my two mile with @bwt.2015 and @sirmatthewtodd. I warmed up a lil, then 2*400's at 71,70 then finished up some distance with lucy, but then I saw garek and sarah and chris and did some miles with them. And then I saw my bud Chris Hughes and my new friend Kyle Rummens, both from Woods Cross and had to run some miles with them. After my achilles hurt for the first time ever, I dont know why, so I iced it. Then I chilled for a few hours. This included watching races and gazing at Taylor from Timp because she is a total babe. I dont even know what to say to let you know how much of a babe she is. Then I found out she's a freshman. I still cant believe it. After all the events I did some more miles around the track and did a few strides with hurdles just incase anyone falls and I need to jump over them. When we got to the hotel I took an ice bath and elevated my legs while watching some espn on the stuff happening in the ncaa tournament, crazy stuff.

First day shout outs: Garek ran a 4:19 and never ceases to amaze me.

HOLT! I hope he sees this @holt. I yelled down from our perch and told some pv kids to tell my boy Pdawg Warby Connor says hi, and holt just yells over to me from the track "Are you connor baller!?"  and I was like "Ya are you Holt!?" it was awesome, I'm frickin famous :) So ya I eventually found warbeast and hell raiser and paul and wait a minute, it just occured to me that I didn't meet controversial cam...wait the frick is wrong with me. And I also met the Desert Hells kids like Jaiden, Josh Thatcher who couldn't pronounce my name, Kale and Sage Dew-coat-aye (who I later learned was a friging savage #nochill) So it pretty much was a blog reunion, or blog meet in person gathering type thing.

Sean and Thomas and Ryan all did well in the mile.

Maddie ran the mile and placed 4th overall

Josh Collins got a meet record in the mile, 4:16 decent

Heading over to the high school I felt pretty good. Warmed up 2 miles. My goal for the race was to state qualify. I didn't really care about just getting a pr. State qualifying is 9:36.95. So I needed to hit 72's. But the race went out super slow. I got out good and was right up in the front, come around and its a 72. Ugh. I was supposed to have a few seconds cushion after the first lap. Then our second lap is a 76. Ugh. After a few laps of this Josh Collins finally took the lead and upped the pace. After the first mile I was 4:54 which is six seconds too slow. After that I kind of gave up a little bit which I shouldn't have done cuz I ended up getting within almost a second and a half of state and thats not a lot, so I think I could have gotten it if I had kept telling myself I could still get it. Back to the race. So we pushed the middle laps cuz the slow start. I didn't see exactly what the clock said right as I hit the line with one lap to go, I just saw it at 8:24 when I still had some left. I kicked hard the last lap and caught a woods cross kid with 300 left and with 100 left I pulled up beside Koy from Timp and we were both going as hard as we could. I turned on the jets and beat him. My time was 9:38.64. 1.69 seconds off of state. So my last lap was a 64. If I keep that last lap but push one of the middle laps 1.69 seconds faster I would have got it. But its over and I'll just go qualify at Utah County. My achilles hurt after on my run so I iced it. Few hours later I got ready to run the medley, but we went out of the exchange zone on the first hand off.

Second day of Pine View shout outs: Audun won the 300 hurdles so thats hot.

Brady got a wasatch girls number. To bad he told her he was a senior and now she wont text back.

Kaysha love won everything this weekend, including our arm wrestle sadly. Now she is trying to slay Brady so we'll see how that goes.

Chris Kauffman cuz he got a 2:01 in the 800 and had a killer kick to win his heat.

Paul Gaona killed it in the 4x4. They dropped the baton but then he kicked trash and made it up and looked like he was hauling

The workout wasn't easy cuz we did the 400's fast but I felt really good. After the last 200 my achilles started to hurt, bothered me during the cool down. Iced it after and then went to our team dinner which was sick. Coach Glen got us hecka turnt. He was spitting fire!
