UVU invite this morning. Did a 2 mile warm up. It was a lil cold standing around but once you got warmed up it was fine and race was perfect. Was in the first heat withh a bunch of the homies from all the other meets. Casey went str8 into the lead and nobody went with him and he won the race by 10 seconds. I hit a 66 the first lap. Most of the other guys were about the same, the pack was tight because of the slower ish pace so I was in lane 2 for a lot of the race. I went with the pack for the next lil while, but they were gradually pulling away until I was in the back three. It felt like I was working hard to stay with them and then when they picked it up I wasn't strong enough to stay with them. When everybody kicked I stayed the same distance behind and didn't pass anybody so that was fun. Ran about a second slower than I did at Davis which isn't a great feeling, but you cant choose which time you get, you gotta go out and work for it. It's early in the season so it's no time to stress I just gotta keep training hard. Cooling down with the Lone Peak crew was chill as always.

PM: Wanted to do something after my race so I went over to Loch Lomond and did a half mile warm up and then a 2 mile tempo avg pace 5:24, and a half mile cool down.

AM: Stayed over night in a small town about a half hour from St. George so I headed over to Pine View for the morning run with the homies. Did the famous Starbucks fun. 4 miles and then did a half mile after. It was a very nice turn out and an awesome time.

PM: 5.5 miles on my kinda usual run towards Aunt Eva's old house. It was hot and my foot hurt so not the best run but I wasn't hard to hit a faster pace.

Drove to University of Redlands to do the workout. Their track/stadium was beautiful.  Shout out to my mom cuz while I was running she was running up and down the bleachers getting buff. 4 miles warm up then 3x400,200 at mile pace. Hit 65.1-32.3-64.1-30.3-63.5-30.4. Went in the early afternoon so it was hot, but not as hot as last night. I was gonna wear my spikes for the last one but my foot hurt on a couple of the reps so I kept the trainers. Cool down to 8.5

My mom and brother are going to the beach and I'm staying home so I don't get worn out before my race. Shout out to me for having my priorities straight #neveronvacation

My mom got on this Moreno Valley run walk jog thing where people put in their fav routes. So we looked at the streets that a lot of people liked going on. She rode the bike next to me and we made a nice loop. Headwind toward the end and ran by a really busy school but other than that it was all Gucci. 8.25 at 7:11ap

PM: Biked 10 miles along side Ryan, Thomas, and Papa Heaps on the same route I did this morning.

AM: 2 mile shake out by Morrison Park. If you guys ain't suckas and are cool with the Jack and want to watch the squad run, we will be throwing down in the 4xMile tonight at 10:48 Utah Time. Just go to Arcadiainvitational.org and they will be live streaming it.

PM: Arcadia Invitational 4x1600 meter. 1.25 warm up, got to 1.5 with the strides. We were the last team on the list in the invite so I don't know if that means we were supposed to be the slowest? But we were on the very outside of lane 9 so Ryan did his best to get in a decent position. He ran great, split a 4:25 and we think got 9th. Collin for the second meet in a row ran insanely good. He got a 4:23 high. Thomas went out hard in a 61, held on and ran really well in a 4:24 and got me the baton in 8th right behind two other teams.

I sat on them for the first lap, it was a 61 but didn't feel very fast. The second lap I could feel the pace slow but didn't want to pass them. Fricking Connor. That one was a slow 68. Third lap I passed them and obeyed Papa Heaps command of going after a green team a little ahead. I can't remember when I passed them but looking at Mama Heaps pictures I think it was with about 300 to go. Was kicking pretty good but then on the last 100 I saw a shadow coming up behind me and said freak no you are not gonna pass me. Held off the green jersey that was coming back up. Split on the website was 4:18.9. Happy with it but it could have been faster if I hadn't sit behind the teams on the second lap.

Not sure what place we finished. Someone thought we got 5th after and I just said let's watch the board cuz I wasn't sure and didn't want to get my hopes up. But we got 5th! I was so hyped! 5th at a meet like Arcadia is pretty sweet so shout out to the guys for killing it. And top 5 got medals too. I got one last year from my 3200 but that was just an open one, this time it's the legit invitational medal.

Shout out to the Twins for both running hard in the 3200 and to Timp and Lone Peak for getting top 10 in the 4x16 which is sick to have 3 Utah county teams in the top 10.

Everyone can go like my pick on insta, and also notice that Squally Canada (who plays for BYU and has caption credit for the first part of the pic) commented on it lol

AM: 4 mile shake out with Papa Heaps and Thom with some strides at the end.

PM: Arcadia Invitational Seeded 3200 meter. Warmed up with Ryan. We got 2.5 which was really good. Felt ready to go. I planned on going out towards the back. I did. I figured the race would go out fast and I just wanted to work my way up. It didn't go out extremely slow but it was slower and then stayed pretty consistent over the entire race. And I did end up moving well in the race. It just all ended up coming in the last 400 mostly lol.

I wore my watch and lapped it each lap so I could have my splits. 68.9-70.1-70.8-68.9-70.1-69.0-68.3-didn't get that one but the Lone Peak coach had me at a 61 and my dad had me at a 61.03. So I finished with an official time of 9:07.59. My previous best was from this meet last year of 9:27 so it was a pr by about 20 seconds (19 and change if you want to get technical) Since it went out slower and Arcadia has so many entries so there are 30 guys in the race, it was super packed and I spent a ton of energy moving around from lane one to two. I was trying to stay on the inside but the other guys wouldn't stay in the same position, they kept cutting back and forth so I didn't want to get boxed in and cut off, it was weird. Another weird thing. At the 200 meter point on the track there was a giant puddle. It was wet everywhere else but there it was inches deep and everybody was soaked lol.

So um ya I just tried to stay consistent and keep with the pack. I think the big part of my race was in lap 7, I made a good surge to get in a better position for my final kick. And you can see it in my splits. The 7th lap was my second fastest according to my watch. So then with 400 to go, my mind was ready to throw down and start going it was just if my body would go with it. And thank goodness my legs felt great. A guy in an orange and black jersey I didn't know, he started moving so I latched onto him for the curve and then started moving. Got going really well on the back straight and passed a lot of the pack. With 200 meters to go I realized I went from like 4th to last a little earlier to 5th and top 5 get medals and a medal in the seeded would be so sick so I tried to not get passed. I went by both the Odgen kids and Dylan Scarsone my friend from footlocker and finished 2nd! It was better than I ever thought I could have done. With outdoor not having gone that great so far leading up it was the race I needed. And I know the times are fast cuz sea level, but compared to the competition we did awesome in the 4x16 and the 32 was great.

Shout out to Thomas for running an awesome 32 and getting 9:27, keeping up with what I did last year. Shout out to Ryan for doing alright I guess I'm the 32 ;) lol 9:14s aight for a sophomore haha

Shout out to Zerickson and Jamison who ran 9:09 and 9:12!!!! fricking heck, in the rated race.

Casey won the 3200 invite so shout out to him. He always amazes me.

9 miles on the Alpine loop with the Lone Peak crew and also PG homies Tyler and Jared. At the start it was cold and rainy but then felt nice. Stopped at Arctic Circle and got courtesy cones. Got back and played 7 on the line and I had a decent third place performance. Then got cereal at jericksens and zericksens and it was delicious. Very fun day.

PM: Pickups today. 1.25 mile warm up but it was cold so I wasn't very warmed up. 5x2min on,1 min off,1 min on,1 min off towards Willow Park. I was running side ways with the wind so I was leaning over into the wind to keep it from blowing me over cuz it felt like 50mph. It felt like there was a little more of a headwind going out, and tailwind coming back. The weather got better later and I got more warmed up so I felt better at the end. For all the 1 min on I got .20, for the 2 mins I got .37, two 38's, .40, and .39. Finished   by Maverick, cooled down back to the high school.

Drove over to PG with Dallin, Parker and Jake. Did 2.25 miles and then walked around and sat around for a while. It got so cold so I didn't want to run. Found Tyler and went out to the track. Dallin and I did a little bit of mileage to warm back up and get pre meet done while the track wasn't being used. Then I finished up with Tyler. We went by PGJR and the elementary school, and then his house and he showed me where Teddy T lives in case I ever want to go toilet paper his house lol. Went back and watched the mile, shout out to those who ran it. Running the 800 tomorrow. Leeeeesssssssggooooooo

Utah County Invite 800. Got there later than I thought I would so I did my warm up around the turf and got 1.5 which isn't the worst but I would have got more. I'm not really an 800 runner but I wanted to go run hard and see what I could get and try to surprise people. I got out good and led the race thru 250 til I let Heston Andersen and Joe Benson pass me. Came thru right at 60. Got the jittery nervous feeling when you start getting close to the finish and you start picking it up and are waiting for someone to really start going. That was with 300 to go. 200 left Heston left Joe and Chris passed me. I knew wanted a medal cuz that would be really impressive for me in the 800. I tried to go after Joe and was giving everything but my legs tied up super bad lol and I finished in fourth which still made me happy. Chris won with a mid 1:57, Heston got 1:57.99 and Joe got 1:59.5. I negative split and finished with a time of 1:59.8! First time breaking 2 and it was awesome. Except for my throat burned the worst it ever has in my life. Super excited tho for the next time I run it.

Didn't really cool down. I didn't get going til after the meet ended cuz we watched the 4x4 and stuff. Did 2 miles around the track while the PG guys were cleaning up. Once they were done we had Tyler, Riley, Ali, me, Collin, Guppy, Asa, and Michael. We did Molly's and it was super sick. Got to 11 for the day. Then we went and got powerade at McDonald's and had french toast at my house.

Great workout today from everybody. It was awesome. 4 mile warm up. Some strides. 12x400's which is the same workout as Destiny Collins so shout out to her. In between every set you got 4 minutes. Then as you got faster you got more rest. First 2:30 then 2:45 then 3. First four at two seconds slower than mile pace. 67.7-68.8-68.6-67.6 Then current mile pace, I went for in between my sea level and altitude pr's 65.4-64.9-65.0-64.8 Then faster than mile pace 62.8-62.0-62.6-61.2.

It was a really fun workout cuz I like 400's, it was warm, and Ryan and Collin balled out at the end. In the words of my good friend Sage "good stuff from everybody today." We got almost a lap in between everything so it was a lot more mileage than I thought it would be. Cool down to 11 for the day.

After we had a tri-meet with Riverton and PG and it was super fun to see all my homies. Tyler killed it in the 800 and 4x4 lol Nicole ran like every race it seemed like and she killed all of em. Riley ran the open 400 and threw down and then ran good in the 4x4. Asa ran awesome in the 1600 so shout out to him.

Had the mile first at 3:45 so waited around all day to leave for Davis. They were behind and then skipped the entire break so then they were ahead so I got 1.25 and a half stride. Fought to keep pace in the middle laps the best I have this year. Had to run a fast last lap and went for it and came up a lil short. Got 4:23.4 and state is 4:23.2 disappointed. Then I ran a lil and prepped for my two mile tempo and that went really swell. Cool down. 9.5 for the day.

Easy recover distance run today. My legs were rekt from Saturday so we went really slow. Some of the guys had some energy they needed to get so Satchell splashed all the guys from a puddle so we screamed get him and we all chased after him and Josh tackled him to the ground lol it was hilarious. And then Andrew tripped him after he got up lol we bully Satchell so hard. We ran to Smiths through the dirt gulley thing and then came back by where I always park my car when running on the mtc. On the way back I announced us running like it was the Olympics and it got us hyped and we had a quick finish lol. Did 8 with Collin and then did 2 barefoot turf miles then hung till little kid track practice and got like 4-5 miles there I'm guessing so I'm feeling a lil tired. I'll add 3 miles. But I went to pizza pie and that was sick so I'm feeling better.

AM: About 11 went and ran 4 miles towards Willowcreek.

PM: Headed over the Orem for the Tiger Trials Invite and hung with Pine View til we needed to warm up, then I went and did 2 miles with Presto, Dallen, Carson, and Mitch. Got all ready and talked some with Ethan and Joe cuz we knew we all wanted state qualifying. Ethan said he would take the race out the first two laps. I got a bunch of strides in before the race. Ethan went out in 65 then we were 2:20 after 800. I then passed him and led til the mile at 4:45. Then he did one lap and then I took over for the rest of the race. They ran the mile before so they were tired and I gapped them and tried to finish hard. I got 9:27 which is an altitude pr by 9 seconds and I got state qualifying which is what I needed. No one runs the two mile at this meet because it's before BYU so I broke the previous meet record of 9:42 held by Austin Slade of Stansbury haha. Talked to pine view a lil more then headed off to get ready for Prom with Amelia which was amazing, couldn't have had a better night #heartemoji
