Watched the 2 mile at byu and then we went for our run. We did a few miles and then stopped at provo high school and did pre meet. I did my 400's in 67 and 66. Then finished up a few miles. I drove home with collin and the traffic was aweful so it took us an hour and a half to get home. We went to the spring and did a mile and a half shake out. Then we ice bathed in the creek cuz the spring was turned off. Something that raised hell was that we found three dead fish in the bottom of it. Hopefully I wasn't stepping on them.

Running the 1600 tomorrow and I'm super pumped. I'm in the fastest heat of the sections. Qualifying for state is the goal. A good quote I have in mind. "Will it hurt. Yes. Will it be worth it. Absolutely."

Ran 2 miles warm up way too early. Me thom and sean sat around for almost an hour after we warmed up waiting for our heats to roll around. Wasn't sure how I was feeling. Some of my best races are that way. When I'm not sure, I just go out and race. Right before I raced I had a front row seat watching sean win his heat with a 4:24.80! Insane! I don't know how he does it, he always gets insane pr's at byu. He missed state by just a little bit so that stinks but I know he will qualify at region. Thom got 4:29 and broke into the 20's so that was sick as well.

Got out well the first part. First lap was a 65. Maybe a lil slow but still just under pace. Second lap was a 67 so I was at 2:12 which is good. I'm getting better at sticking with the others and running better middle laps. The third lap jamie told us to do 5 little strides to keep the legs going and keep on pace. I did every time there was a gap. I remember Nic Demler was a few meters ahead and I surged a lil and closed it. I remember thinking that I needed about a 65 last lap to get state, so that means about 3:19. I was kinda wiped out from the surges but with 300 to go I guess I found a second wind and closed hard. With 100 to go I told myself you've ran on pace for 1500 meters, yur sure as heck not gonna lose it right now. Got second in my heat behind Travis Feeny. Got 4:23.25. Bill says I coulda won the heat but I can worry about that some other day, I was focused on qualifying and I did that so I'm happy.

After the race my legs were sooooo tired. I wanted to die but I fast walked to my fam and celebrated with them for a lil and then went and gave jamie a bear hug cuz I was turnt af. In such a studded field it was awesome to come out in second place. I was so happy on the cool down I just wanted to sprint it. After I finished up miles I just sat around and watched the amazing performances. Such as my boys from the blog Garek and Conner wrecking the mile. Oh my gosh they are bomb. It was such a fun race to watch. Orems 4x100 got a state record 41.46. Dylan got a 1:55. Sara Musselman (my gf) got a 30 second pr in the 2mile yesterday and then slayed the mile today.

Shout out to Jamie for being the most bomb coach ever and helping me reach my goals. I also wouldn't be as good with out my baller teammates that push me everyday, I love you guys #lehitrack #teampre

Ok, so now the plan is run the 800 at region and see how fast I can get that and then run the 32 and 16 at state. Goals are 9:20 and 4:22! SO PUMPED ITS GONNA BE SICK!!

2.25 mile warm up and then 6x800 at goal two mile pace for state (2:20) with 2:30 rest in between.  All the other guys had just distance but they switched off pacing me. My times were 2:22

2:21

2:24 Thom did a not so swell job of pacing this one, partially my fault for not speeding up

2:20

2:20

2:16 to make up for lost time. Cooled down a little farther than planned.

This workout was tough but I believe I handled it well. I got a new 5k record on my watch 14:07 so that's pretty sick. We'll see how long into my college career it takes to run that all the way thru. They dont run 5ks tho so idk. Region is gonna be fun cuz I'm just running the 800 to see what I can get that down to, hopefully a 2 flat, then I'm ready to kill it at state. Shout out to my monthly views, probs cuz the shout out conner gave me

Shout out to the waitress at Denny's for hooking us up with hecka pancakes last Friday, those things work magic #state #4secondpr

Ran 3 miles on the track and then did pre meet. I had 2 200's and did them both in 31. I race the 800 tomorrow, lehi has 5 guys in the fastest heat so it'll be sick. My goal is 2 flat. If I'm up towards the front I'll go for 4th place and state. After I finished till 8.

Some of the team pre guys ran in the 2 mile today and some of the highlights were D'brickasean qualifying for state with a 9:44 and second place finish! Now lehi has 3 guys in the 2 mile so props to us and coach jamie. Chicken nugget got a 12 second pr with a 10:48 and still had a monster kick

So in the 800 today at region I got 7th place overall and 2:04.00 I shoulda freaking pushed it harder so I could say my pr is 2:03.99 but whatevs it was a small pr. First lap was slow but I pushed the last lap a lot harder than I normally do so that was good. It was tough tho, the 800 is a really fast race and it have to keep up with the guys that have a lot faster sprint than me. It's a lot different than the two mile. Overall it was a decent speed workout and stuff. Finished up some miles, not as much as I had for the day but the weather was miserable so I just called it a day.

Ready to go kill state and run the fastest I ever have. It wont be like the 800.

Played basketball with brady for a lil while during lunch. We had an epic game of 21. Warmed up a mile and then a distance run to the gazebo. Average pace 7:06. It was a good shake out run from yesterday. Sick speed workout tomorrow. The spring of living waters is still off. smh.

Turns out a got a medal from Arcadia for getting 5th in my heat of the two mile. Jamie got it in the mail and I freaked out when she gave it to me.

2 mile warm up and then a speed workout. 5x400's at goal mile pace (65-66) then walk/jog 100 meters (we just went and all out 100 meters. I did it with Thom while sean and ryan did the 6x800 workout i did earlier in the week. It was slightly difficult jumping right into that fast pace so first one was 67. Then the next one I was leading it and thom wouldn't get off my back even tho I knew we were going way too fast, ended up being a 63. I kinda pulled a cristian soratos. The rest were 65, 65, 63. A mix of feeling a little tired and the pace being as fast as it has been all year made the workout tough. The sprint opened up the stride and felt really good.

Shout out to Matthew Maton for running 3:59.38 in the mile at the oregon twilight meet or something. It is the 3rd fastest prep time ever and only the sixth time ever someone has broken 4 in high school! I bet that grant fisher will also break 4 and it will be the first year ever that multiple guys do it. Maybe even austin tamagno, john dressel, and my boy conner mantz do it too! What if 5 guys did it, dang that would be insane.

Shout out to Paul Ryan cuz he's got range for days. Go check out his blog.

So kinda like zach my legs felt a little sluggish today. I did a pretty good workout on saturday and then doing nothing but sitting on sunday made them sore. Easy 8 and then ice bath after. I have some 200's tomorrow and then easy the rest of the week. I'm not super hyped for state yet, but that may be good cuz im not stressing about it. I know im in good shape and I can go run awesome. But trust me i'll be pumped before I run.

Me, Sean, Ryan, and Thomas drove over to AF high school where jv region was taking place. We ran 4 miles before the workout. We went to this baseball park and climbed a hill and ended up on a path behind Lone Peak high, kinda where the DomiNate 5k was. It was sick. Then we did 3 sets of 4x200's at mile pace with 90 seconds rest inbetween. With a lap of recovery and 3 minutes rest in between sets. We went faster than mile pace, most of them from 31-32. I felt fine, the legs felt nice and powerful so good things are to come.

Shout out to all the kids who killed it at JV region today such as Collin for winning the 1600 and sir Matthew for almost clearing 5 feet in the high jump while wearing cargo shorts lol.

Shout out to Conner Mantz for signing to BYU! He is gonna kill it! Now he just needs to tell Eyestone to recruit me and then there will be 3 super fast guys all with the same name.

State 5A 1600 meters. It was mediocre. I ran my slowest time since indoor. It was really cold and I just was flat and didn't have energy in my legs. I was ranked 11th and finished 19th. But I'm looking forward to the 3200 tomorrow and gonna run better in that.

Day 2 of state. I got a little warm up in. My legs felt better and the race was better than yesterday. I was 5 seconds off my pr at altitude so not the best race. I just wasn't in it mentally. Something has just been off since BYU. I spent a lot of time and energy trying to get to state in the mile and 2 mile and so after I got it, I just didn't have the same want or drive. After I ran 4.5 with Garek, Bill, and Sarah and it was quite a nice time. Then I just hung and watched races the rest of the day. Shout out to Brinn, Ryan, Ginger, Amber, Dylan, and boys 4x4 for some awesome performances. From other teams Nashby, Cheiner, Emily Ellis, Haden Penrod, Peyton, Bo, really the whole 4A boys 800 was sick. Conner Mantz had the dopest kick I've ever seen! It was so sick to watch. Conner if you read this just know I was flipping out and crying and cheering and going nuts because you're so cool.

Shout out to all my friends from the blog because we all killed it this year! #fastrunningblogordie!

Ok time for a end of season review! Junior Track season: I didn't finish it off the way I wanted but it was still an incredible season to say the least. In the 2 mile I cut off 33 seconds if you count my Arcadia time. And in the mile I cut off 17 seconds (and I cut off 16 the year before) so I was able to improve a lot, and without the best coach in the business Coach Jamie, my supportive parents, my team mates that push me everyday, and the man upstairs, I would not have been able to so thank you so much! I got my goals of state which is the best feeling ever. I am so excited for cross country again and senior year and all the great things to come.

Few sets of Bench and Military Press, with some abs. We are getting new uniforms again, cuz ol Coach Rowe would get uniforms and say we're keeping them for a long time and then they'd look dumb or something, and we get ones for Footlocker/ XC camp, so I have 9 different jerseys. But this time we are getting a name brand, so they fit well, and look cool. So we are gonna run extra fast this season.
