2 mile warm up with a pair of strides. A bunch of sick people were doing the race so it was cool to hang with them on the start line for a little bit. First mile was slight uphill and then some of the downhill by the stadium. 5:29. Was with the Riding Twins and Thom. Second mile was the most downhill 5:12. Went down and got on University Avenue and it was super sick. They had the entire road open and there were people lining both sides cheering. Made a move and seperated from that group. Third mile 5:16. Fourth mile passed two guys and just tried to grind and make up some time on Galen. 5:23. Now we went up the incline to the u turn. Was less than 10 seconds from Galen. Turned right and started the gradual incline to the finish. Fifth mile 5:32. I could see up ahead that you took a right and that we were getting close. One guy said it was just around the corner and give it everything you got. Took his advice and started almost sprinting. Passed Galen and tried to hold on til the finish. Sixth mile 5:35. Sub 5 pace the last .13. According to the clock I came in just before 33 but official time was 33:03. 7th overall and 1st in my age division. Very happy with the race. I felt like I went out hard but not too hard and moved up well through out the race. I loved the course. It is awesome especially running down university. I'm definitely doing this race every year after I get back.

2.5 cooldown. Some with the boys then with Jackie and Emily.

PM: Was at our normal Fourth of July party. Loaded up on food and ice cream then headed out for a night run. Ran over to the High School on main. Took in all the fireworks going off, did a lap on the track and headed back. Wasn't super dark at the start but on the way back there were some sweet fireworks going off. 4.5 miles to get to 15 for the day.
