| | AM: Waterfall Canyon - Upper - Enve loop.
PM: Reverse Upper followed by some barefoot running on the turf and strides. The barefoot running felt great until after I realized I did too much and maybe the turf was too hot and my left foot had a nasty blister.

| | Cut down at Beus. Went 2k,mile,1200,800,800,800,400,400. Paces got faster each time you dropped the distance and it wasn't an easy workout but pretty much everybody did very well. It started pouring right as we finished so everybody got a lil soaked

BYU Autumn Classic (4.45 Miles) 00:23:07 | | BYU Autumn Classic. Even tho this was a down week in mileage as we are preparing for a strong training block these next three weeks leading up to Notre Dame, my legs had felt heavy all week. Friday, Saturday, and Monday took a toll on them. And then I went out too hard the first mile and paid the price for it. Shortly after the first mile I knew it was gonna be long day. I ended up averaging about the same mile pace that I wanted going into it, but I wasn’t able to stay with the other Weber guys and faded most of the race. Now my focus turns to these next couple weeks and getting some good workouts.

| | AM: Met up with my boy Ben Chadburn and did a hospital loop with him. Left him and added on some more around the south Ogden neighborhoods.
PM: Not sure how far. Forgot my watch. Upper, dropped down by the bathrooms, pipe. Not a great day.

| | 2 sets 600,400,600,400,600,200 on the grass field. The goal for 6's was 1:51, 4's and 2 - 6:40 pace. 2 minutes rest in between sets. Started off great and then in the second set it got harder and harder for me to hit pace on the 4's and I wasn't recovering for the 6. The last 6 of the second set was slow. 2 min break. Then everybody had either 1,2, or 3 more but instead of jogging a 400 we got 90 seconds rest. Coach told me I had one more but after I hit the pace I told him I could do a second one because we were getting standing rest and my body was recovering. Ran one more and threw in a little kick 1:47.

| | PM: Power run at 21st street pond. Love that place. 1 lap is a little over a mile so we do 4 miles and then a little extra to get back to the starting line where the water is. 90 sec rest. Then finish to 7 miles for me, 8 for the top group. The goal for the first 4.3 was 5:25 and we were a couple seconds faster than that. I felt soooo good. And it felt like everybody else in group B did too cuz we seemed really smooth. It felt like my heart rate wasn’t even elevated and the only thing that I was working was my legs. Took the quick break. Second set pace was see what you can do. I stayed at the same average which was good. Not only was it a good workout that helped build fitness and confidence and help down the road, but it was fun. And you gotta have fun.
AM: 3.8 on Pipe. Some of it with Ben and some with Jacob.

| | AM: Was in the middle of a hospital loop when my boy Cox came along so I ran with him and it was a great time.
PM: Ran to Beus and some guys went on this short path that I never knew was there. It went out into neighborhoods and started climbing. It went up close to Coach P's house and we went through the two little gates, hopped on a trail and pretty soon were running past Enve. Apparently, that's how the girls run to upper. I really liked all the climbing. I dropped down by the bathrooms and added on Pipe. Had a funny run-in with Liza and Lily. Strides

| | 10xK at Beus. Longest workout I've done. 3:05 avg. Last few were mentally difficult. I was in the back cuz the other guys were running faster but Coach was fine with 3:05 so I tried to stay positive and just focus on hitting the time. Really happy with it. This workout will be a great benefit in a couple weeks.

| | End of the World. Right before we cross the golf course we went on Gibs. I don't think I've ever run down right there. Only up it like twice and it's pretty steep. Popped out at Mt Ogden. Ran north on the roads for a bit until you get to the end of the world and then drop down and climb back up by the end of pipe. It was like a sixty-five minute run but for some reason, it felt like we were running for two hours.

Idaho State Invitational (3.54 Miles) 00:19:58, Place overall: 15 | | ISU Invite. We had talked about how the course has rolling hills but we majorly underestimated them. There were two hills that were freaking steep. Like one step below the mutha cussa type steep. Glad I went out conservative, but I still didn't even move up that much. I know don't have lots of training under my belt and have to be realistic but I feel like I'm in shape to be racing faster and runnng faster in workouts and something, I think a lack of mental toughness is holding me back. I'm sick of running like a scrub and need to figure it out.
Long cooldown on the Roosevelt trail. We climbed a pretty tough, long mountain, and had we wanted to keep going up another giant one, we could have went up Chinese Peak. Maybe someday. We took the single track down and it had so many gradual switch-backs going down the mountain. I was very impressed. I wish Enve was like that.
Shout out to Joe for recommending Jeri's Jumbo's Cafe, we ate there after the race and it was 10/10!
