2.25 mile warm up and then realized that it would be a while til we raced so got another 1.25 in. It was cold but it got better before we ran so I just ran in the jersey and short shorts, and my trainers of course. Some savage started table topping people and it started a craz.

2.97 on the watch. We didn't want to go all out on this race to be more ready for region and stuff. So I wanted to hit 5:30, 5:20, 5:10 and get top 20 which medaled. So first mile was boxed in cuz the slower start than normal and uphill and it was 5:52. Second mile was little rolling, little downhill 5:25. Last mile was all downhill 5:05 pace for the .97. Finished 10th and it was a really fun race. Legs were a little tired cuz the higher mileage but region is gonna be awesome. We won the 1st place team by 5 points over Riverton and Westlake was only 9 points behind them. 2.5 mile cooldown around the course. Sick trophy and medal.

Hot tubbing at sami's house after with Wanks, Bill, and Gups.

12 miles on the MCT in my hoka's which I love so so much. They are awesome. Michael and Austin got some so shout out to me for starting the trend. Legs felt good. It was cool and drizzling so a great time.

Shout out to some of my homies running the St. George Marathon today. Fritz took 2nd in 2:22. Taylor Farnsworth (RustyTF2) took 6th with a 2:28. Matt Poulsen from Matt Todd's ward took 10th with a 2;32. My man Coach Holt got 12th and a 2:34! I'm happy he doesn't have hard training anymore and he can go back to good ol running for fun. Coach Cob from East, or Bill Cobler was the first person over the age of 50 to cross the line and got 2:48:50. Holy smokes. Trevor Sharp from UVU and Candace's hubby got 2:54. Momma and Papa Heaps crossed the line together (relationship goals) at 3:48 so shout out to them and everybody that even completed the marathon!

AM: 3 easy on redwood before heading to uvu

PM: Sage Ducote, Josh Thatcher, and Tanner Sharp from Dez Hells, Alexis MacArthur from Orem, Julieta from timp, and Matt Salazar from Cali are the other people here on the visit. I am so hyped the hells guys are here cuz they are so funny. Turns out that Matt Salazar was the kid that beat Garek in the frosh soph race at Footlocker our sophomore years. While on the topic of beating Garek, I beat him at Murray, sophomore year I think. But that would be weird if it was sophomore year because he destroyed me at footlocker in that race. I dunno. But I did beat him at Murray.

Had breakfast at Village Inn, got a tour of the campus, had lunch at Zupas, then did my workout on the track. 12x400's.

4 at 5k pace (75) with 1 minute rest. Got 77, 72, 74, 73

4 at 2 mile pace (71) with 2 minutes rest. Got 70, 72, 70, 72

4 at mile pace w/ spikes (66) with 3 minutes rest. Got 67, 65, 66, 62.

Fun workout on a nice track. Weather was really good. Im in the hotel just chillng til dinner.

During lunch got .75 in on the treadmill at utahrun trying on some pegasus 31's. They were dope.

At practice, before our 1 mile on the turf I jumped over this huge fence/barrior thing and it was sick. I brushed it going over and it was pretty dope. haha Jamie was running over trying to stop me as I jumped it. Me, Wanks, and Flips got HYPED after haha. Then ran to the groval. Some around the groval, then pre meet 800 in 2:22. Then some around the groval. I got a ton on grass/turf today, it was kinda boring. A little out then back to the high school.

Did some homework and ice bathed with Asa. It was lit. Then went to the team dinner and had a party. Shout out to Marsha for being the motivational speaker. She is 41 years old and is still the best Heptathlete from Trinadad and Tobego and at her last meet was 40 points off the masters world record! She is training for Rio #goals

AM: 2.5 on redwood. Shout out to all you loyal blog viewers for getting me to 300, ily.

PM: 2 mile warm up and strides and stuff. Got out fine thru the bottle neck. Chilled the first mile with a 4:56 and stayed in good position, bout 10th. Second mile did a good job of moving up and staying consistent (passing the guys who started out way fast) 5:03 second mile, best second mile I've ever had. Last mile was pretty much Joe, Ryan, and I. It was pretty tough after that second mile. Third mile was 4:58. Made a move with 200 to go and ended in third. Ryan beat Joe as well so it was pretty sick. Finished with a 15:19.  They say its a three mile but I got 3.1 right as I finished. So thats a 24 second pr from bob firman. 3 mile on the watch was 14:57 which was pretty sick. Lone Peak ended up winning because their split is crazy, 9.9 seconds so shout out to them. They beat AF by 6 points and then we were 4 freaking points behind AF! 10 freaking points we  were away from winning. It's the same thing that happened at Bob Firman. I'm so sick of having someone wimp out and have a bad race and we get so close to winning but we cant do it.

1.5 barefoot on the turf before awards. Then drove over to Thoms house where Kenzie Draper's wedding reception was. It was sick seeing her for the first time in like a year, along with Emily Allen, Alesha Hatch, Daniel Woodward. It was sick. Quick fact on Emily Allen, Chicken Nugget's older sister. She was pretty good in high school but now she's killing the marathon cuz she's got hecka endurance. She is exactly 5 minutes away from the B Standard at the Olympic Trials! She graduated like 3 years ago!

Drove over to the Twins house and went on a 3 mile shake out with Kobe. Now we're roasting everyone and getting turnt and stuff. Peace out homies.

1 mile around the school and then to AF high school with nug. Went a little over cuz we needed to go to the bathroom. We got there when school was getting out and I wasn't wearing a shirt so I went to put it on and realized it was a lehi jersey. So I put it on just when we walked in and chose to have people think I was weird for not wearing a shirt rather than possibly getting the crap beaten out of me for walking into AF wearing a lehi jersey.

Shout out to ryan cuz he can officially smooch the babes today

2.5 out from the hotel with Joe. We were gonna go out 3 but the trail we were on ended. So we went to this park to do 1 mile around it and the burrito I had for lunch was really heavy in my stomach and I almost threw up a few times and ended up walking part of the way back to the hotel. It sucked. Its too late to go for a run so im gonna go do some on the treadmill.

Couldn't do anymore miles last night cuz they were under renovation and didn't have a treadmill. So this morning did a loop around the park and back with Joe. Got back to the hotel at 3.6, then went and then added on a little by myself to highland high school where the farnsworth bro's went to high school. Finished at 5.25

Got to the groval right as the guys were warming up there for the workout. 1 mile warm up, some strides then whistle hills. 3x15,20,25. Cool down to 4.75.

Shout out to my homie Brady Taylor cuz he went into the MTC today. He's going to Chesapeake Virginia and he's gonna do awesome!

2 mile shake out during lunch from Thoms house to almost the highland sign.

Got there and received my jersey from Pine View. Love all you guys. Then ran around the course with the guys team cheering on the girls. Talked some with Garek. Chilled with the team and had fun. Watched the start of guppy's race, went to the bathroom for the last time then 1.5 mile warm. Was going to the bathroom and warm up right around the start of the 3A boys race and didn't get to see them at all! I'm such a jerk. I'll be getting to my shout outs of the guys in that race later on. Didn't know what to stretch, kinda stood around, said hi to everyone that came to support me. I was really relaxed and not overly hyped. Maybe its cuz I only listened to U92 on the bus ride over. I just knew I was gonna do awesome. I'm way too experience to get in a race like this and not do my best. It being senior state just was weird and I didn't know how to feel.

Gun goes off. No restart like last year but I was mentally ready if it happened again. Right where I needed to be the whole first mile, bout 15th on the top of the first hill. Heard Timo say 5:06. Second mile just kinda moved up as usual. Biggest group I passed in one moment was right at the top of the more gradual hill after going around the pond. Then after the u-turn passed Cam. After we made the u-turn by the bathrooms and we had never ran before started to go not as well. I was kinda tired and hadn't looked exactly where we were supposed to go prior to the race, and Talon and Casey were long gone. And everyone was running across the course and didn't even know I was there, but I didn't have any serious problems. But I was running and just saw the flags and no arrows so I hoped that I wasn't running on some part we had run earlier in the race going the opposite direction. A little after that I kinda missed a left turn but recovered quickly. After that I let Adam get a half step ahead of me so I could just follow him and not worry about where to go. My sister yelled to me I was in 4th (Counting me ahead of Adam cuz we had not yet passed Dallin) and I only kinda processed it. Then someone yelled to us Viewmonts dying. We passed him about half way across the back stretch and I made my move and passed Adam about the exact same time. It was just me and him duking it out til the finish from then on. After passing him I really increased the cadence and he tried to match. We hit the blue things and he was only a couple feet behind. In my mind I knew I was gonna beat him the entire time. Not in a cocky way. I just was still feeling pretty good and once I had passed him I knew I wasn't gonna give it back. (But now after the race I know that his pr is 1:56 and in track I gotta make sure I got a bigger gap) Tried not to biff it on the little dip, rounded the corner and pushed it home. 15:20 for what is advertised as a 3 mile course so my average was just under 5:07. And Timo said 5:06 at the mile mark, so that means I ran very consistent. I got 1 second faster at region and they are both 3 miles, but State is WAY more hilly then region so that means I ran decently faster if the distance is correct.

It took a while for it to hit me that I got third. I didn't know what to put in as my goal on the blog so I switched it a couple times from 7 and 5. Ended up getting 3rd in 5A and 7th out of everybody. And I am SO happy for the other guys. EVERY ONE OF THEM RACED AWESOME AND WE GOT SECOND!!! Now that one hasn't changed much I dont believe. That one was on the blog from Day 1, Top 2 bring home a trophy. I've put in a lot of time and effort over these last 4 years and those guys came in clutch and got me a state trophy in my last race and it is awesome. Thank you so much to Jamie and Rachel for being amazing coaches this year. They believed 100% that we could do it everyday of the season no matter what. We are gonna come even better to NXR and go show the whole southwest what we can do.

Shout out to Guppy for getting 14th overall in the 5A girls race!

Shout out to Nick Hill, my boy Hell Raiser for bringing home that State Championship! The whole team found joy in the journey and finished 2nd which is awesome congrats to them.

Shout out to the Pine View girls. Maybe they didn't do exactly how they wanted but they had a very succesful season.

I've gotta congratulate my other homies from St. Geezy Dez Hells for winning the team title. You guys are awesome.

Shout out to my boys at Timp for taking home a title. Will and Joe ran well. I talked about Garek earlier. He's a beast. Not everything went well but he's gonna throw down this post season, you aint seen nothing yet.

Shout out to Davis because they were worthy foes and ran very well.

My boy Ethan Field from Sky View got 5th in the 5A race and 10th overall.

Shout to my teammates cuz I love all of you. My parents.

Shout out to all the peeps I saw after the race that were awesome. Braydon Youngberg, Daniel Woodward, everybody.

Shout out to Asa, Dallin, and the boys who painted LEHIXC on their chests.

After the meet did 1.25 cool down barefoot and then .75 more wtih shoes. Then went to Pizza Pie and proceeded to party all night long.

4.25 in 7:05. Got on redwood for the normal route but then peeled off onto the golf course for the first time ever. I didn't want to get kicked off before but this time I guess I just decided to try it and it was really nice. Went on the grass as much as possible and it was soft and nice on the legs. Just kinda explored. You could get some decent mileage if you went around enough. We'll see how next week goes, try to get in the 50's for mileage.

Target splits were 6:00, 5:50, 5:40, <5:30. You had a 5 second range, faster and slower on each. So like 6:05-5:55. Times I hit were 5:53, 5:44, 5:39, 5:18. Did it by myself cuz the other guys did it yesterday. Tempo's are cool. Hammys and calfs were tired, so gonna start off easy tomorrow on hogs with the lone peak bro's.

Shout out to Josie Bushar cuz its her birthday today!

Met at Legacy Park for a dope trail run with the Lone Peak homies. We went on Hogs and it changed my life. It was fun hanging out with them and then the trail was prime. 2000 ft elevation change in one run was dope. The steep down hill put some pounding on my legs so we went and ice bathed in the canyon after and it was cold to say the least haha but it was a good time. Shout out to the guys for the invite for a sweet halloween run. If you want to see a pic of me looking super hot with some beautiful scenery look at adamjensen97's insta
