| | 4x1600, 4x400 at 21st street. Goal was 4:52’s til faster on the last one. We went 4:47 (thought we were slow because marks on the ground were off) 4:53, 4:47, 4:43. Great workout. Coach wasn’t there. I wish I could have been able to run a little more conservative and been allowed to do 5 but whatevs. Very happy with it. 400’s in 68 ish.

USU Invitational (4.35 Miles) 00:21:48, Place overall: 13 | | AM: Shakeout run
PM: USU Invite. Best race this season by far. I put myself in a much better position to compete with others compared to the other races. Well I put myself in good position at BYU it was just too good of position and I died... But felt great. Going down the bottom half of the figure 8 the second time an Isaacs army guy passed me but I went with him and after a little while realized that I could even go faster, passed him, and found a second wind. Proud of the mental toughness that I had to go with him. Had a very strong last uphill. From running the course so many times I knew that you could get closer to redlining earlier in the race due to the downhill finish. Gained quite a bit of ground on the uphill. I caught and passed Conner when he had a sizeable gap on me at the start of the lap. Kept on pushing, passing more people. After the little grass u-turn loop section thing I came up on Zach and told him to come with me and started really moving. Finished strong and was suprised to see the clock show 21:48 a 32 second improvement from last year! I finally was able to really push myself mentally which allowed me to push myself physically and have a great race. Landon and Jared were both there so that was pretty sweet to have them be able to watch. We went to Even Steven's after the race. Always a 10/10!

| | Started at Rainbow Gardens and ran to where we park at South Weber. Really liked how it was just one way, no flipping. My legs were tired but I gave it my best effort to stay with the traveling guys for as long as possible. I stayed with them for two of the 6:0X miles and then hit consistent 6:20-30's. It was dang cold at Rainbow because of the canyon wind but got fine as we moved down the parkway. Until the sun came up and how the temperature drops around that time. Holy shiz. I was running with Zach and all of a sudden everything froze. Not fun haha but good memories. Stopped at the bathroom. Came out and Coach and Frazier had joined up with us. Last mile it felt like someone had attached bricks to my legs haha.

Kind of a weird workout bouncing the pace from 66 to 74 to 70 before settling in. It was fun tho. Felt strong. The mile at the end was really fun. I liked the short fast and then finish with a longer interval dynamic.
