4 miles with Asa and Josh then strides and 2x400's at 72,73 in prep for the Connor Arnell Classic tomorrow. Since I am obviously the creator for the connor arnell classic I had some rules in place. Only lit people that were gonna run fast could come, sorry Collin ;)  but then Jamie invited everybody, but not that many people want to do it so its still gonna be sick. Finish to 10 on the rail trail. I think the time has come to retire my blue boosts. I'll break em out here and there but this was the last long run.

Sorta shout out to my boy Asa. He put in all his race reports for the year and he promised me he would blog everyday till state track so thats sick. But he freaking roasted me on twit last night so he only gets a sorta shout out. Speaking of roasting, Asa is fire at it, so he is gonna give out a daily roast. Make sure to check him out at asanielson and give him some views.

PM: The Connor Arnell/Baller Classic. Originally we called it the Arnell Classic, but then someone said the Baller Classic and it had a nice ring to it. Call it whatever you please. 2 mile warm up and stretch and some strides. Josh, who had the sick playlist we were gonna listen to during the race on his phone. Showed up the time we were gonna start the race. Then they tried to get it set up for 20 minutes while we were sitting out in the cold. I did a ton of strides here and there waiting to start the race. They finally ditched it and we started the 5k race on the track.

We wanted to hit 75's and switch off pacing laps. At first it was Michael and Ryan. And we were pretty good but when one would take over they would slow it down once they got in the lead and we were 5:11 the first mile. I needed to hold my end of the pacing, and I didn't want to be a hypocrite and get mad at the slow pacing and never have stepped in. So I took the next two laps and hit a 70 on one of them and tried to speed it up. Then Christian took some and then Ryan again and it was us three together as we had broken off. We were within a couple seconds of 10:11 for the two mile split so about 5:00. Didn't really get any of the splits or times for the third mile. With like 800 to go, Ryan and Christian gapped me just a lil and I closed it. 450 to go I moved to second. Then Christian started to dry heave and I was like ah man. 200 to go I got in the lead and then last hundred Christian passes me and I was like what the heck, 200 meters ago you were dying. He got 15:41, I got 15:42 and it was a really fun time. Beat my time from Bob Firman the only 5k we ran this year, by 1 second. Once we got going I didn't think bout the cold at all, wind was hard. 1.5 mile cool down with CKonetheballer and had a nice talk. He's an awesome guy and hopefully he can have a killer track season cuz he deserves it. National Sandwich Day at subway after. One day off, then small hill workout on Thursday and Tempo @ pre footlocker.

Shout out to Alexis and Megan cuz they're sick. Shout out to everyone that came out and cheered us on, and shout out to David at UtahRun for letting us use the big timer.

PM: 2 mile warm up to the top of pioneer and then to the groval. The workout was 100,200,300 up airport @ 2mile pace. Recovery back and inbetween sets a lap around the groval, 3 sets. It was fun workout with a good gang of guys. Then we headed to the State Volleyball tournament and that was sick as usual. We swept Jordan and Davis so eat that AA.

Ran down af main and then crossed under the freeway thru the hidden pass, then to the af dock at utah lake. Then back the same way. Going out was fast cuz I had the hokas and feeling good, then the legs settled down on the way back. There was this road that was str8 for a mile and a half and was surrounded by trees and the leaves were all orange, cool stuff.

4 mile warm up with Nug which was awesome cuz I felt totally ready to go and we didn't have to wait around after we finished. Just laced up the shoes and off we were. So this was another one of those tempo races, which happen to be so awesome. I hear the cheering more cuz I'm not totally into the race and I can wave at the people I know, fun stuff. So I lead out the first 100 of the race again and then proceeded to run a 5:26 first mile and a 5:27 second mile. Happy with the consistency and that was right were I wanted to be. Third mile pushed a lil more and got 5:23 and sprinted the last .1 on the track to finish in 16:44 and 21st place. Exactly how I wanted it to be. My pine view jersey gave me power. Then 5 mile cool down with Nug and ran some on the course thinking about how thats gonna be the last time we have a xc meet at af. I've had an entire seasons worth of races there. Really good week hitting 69 miles.

After the race I had a good talk with Coach Cobb. After the cooldown we went to Micky D's and drank 6 gallons of powerade lol, then we went to Denny's and it was lit.

Everybody come to the state volleyball championships tonight!

PM: 5 miles out toward willowcreek. Came back and was hanging out before doing some abs. My roasting was on point today and I got asa really mad at me. He tried to run after me and tackle me but I juked him out and he fell and hurt himself. Then he told me I was afraid of him so I walked right up to him and we wrestled. He tried to spin me around so I'd lose my balance but I didn't cuz im boss at wrestling and i picked him up and threw him down lol. Even tho we fought today me and Asa are good buds and I love him, and the rest of the team.

3 mile warm up and then switched into the new Zantes for the workout. It was 1600 @ 5k pace, then 1200, 800, 400, 200, 200. Each progressive one was supposed to be 5 seconds per lap faster, but Ryan and I, our 5k was already gonna be way fast so we got about 3. In between everything was 4 minutes rest, except in between the 200's was 2 minutes rest. After almost every one we got a 400 jog in.

My times were 4:52, 3:33, 2:18, 63, 28, 26. Was really happy with the workout. I thought going into it I would be dead by the end but I was suprisingly fresh going into the 200's. Wasn't as hard as I thought it was going to be. It was a fun workout and I hope we do it again.

Good dinner with the gang tonight.

PM: 6 miles passed the spinny park and the. The fish park. It used to be just a random dirt path across, then it was under construction and now they are done building the road. At he light by AF Jr. I saw mussels and the girls varsity squad. Was able to have a nice run even tho I had 4 or 5 cookies for lunch.

Signed my National Letter of Intent today to Weber State! I'm so thankful for the awesome coaches I have had over the years to help me reach the high goals I set for myself, thankful to not have had to deal with injuries, and shout out to my parents for being the real mvp's.

Think I got 3.75 miles. Slept in and got a good breakfast. Then we hung as a team for a while and then had lunch at chipotle and then hung some more til we left to run the course at 3:30. The course as always was sick to run. Then we headed back to where it was 800 remaining in the race and finished the 800 at race pace. Then finished with some strides. I was feeling good for the race.

Then we bought some shirts at the retail thing and I said hey to the pine view homies and Garek. Participated in the t shirt exchange this year and if was dope. I got 2 pine view shirts, a lone peak shirt, and a shirt from a Colorado school. Then we headed over to the pasta dinner and listened to Shelby Houlahan speak. It was cool because I watch all indoor and outdoor track national championships that are on tv and every distance final it seemed Shelby was in so I knew who she was. Got some stuff signed by her and told her that I was gonna follow her fan club. He said just follow me and told me her @ name. Then she said she would follow me back so I was like sick! (She actually did it) Headed back to the hotel and tried to ice but it didn't work out so just elevated.

Good sleep. Breakfast. Got to the course and thanks to Mtn View and Westlake taking forever we missed the start of the girls race. But they did really good and got 4th in the combined large school open race. Warmed up 1.5 and did some stretches. The national anthem and introductions were sick. My heart was beating pretty fast but I wasn't gonna go out crazy.

I took it out slower the first mile and it was a 4:58 lol probably my fastest first mile all year. I was in like 60th place probably but I told myself not to panic and just start moving up so I did that and it was good. 2 mile split was 10:02. 3rd mile I think was the fastest of the 3. Passed Sage and Adam Haynes. Before the last turn for the finish I heard someone yell 27 so I told myself you gotta go if you wanna get a shirt. So I put everything I had into the last few hundred meters. Passed Joe right after the curve and Travis Feeny once we hit the grass. After the race I went over to the shade and sat down for a while. Then ol' Paul Roberts (got third this race, last year got 5th or something and ran at NXN) came over and helped me up and I told him how sick he is.

Time was 15:20. Same as state. When I was coming toward the finish I saw I was gonna be way close to it and tried to beat it. I didn't know if I had gotten the top 21 so I waited around til results and turns out I got 20th so I was really happy. I think I could have got a couple seconds faster if I went out harder the first mile cuz some of the guys were a whole 15 seconds ahead of me, but who knows if I would have had anything left in the tank. But it's over and I'm happy with the results. Most of the season I had the goal of getting top 21 and a shirt, as the race to closer I wanted a little better than that but I got the goal I had for a lot of the season and it was the best competition we were facing all year.

Said hey to Shelby Houlahan and said told her thanks for the follow back on insta. Team got 8th. We wished it could have been higher but other teams just ran really good. Overall I am really happy with how this season went. He had good showings at Bob Firman and region and then put it everything together at state which was awesome. I love my home boys that I get to spend every day with.

Barefoot cool down with Timp and AF and then LP. Ride home was sick finishing Star Wars and hanging with Julie Sumsion.

We came up with this sick run called The Figure 8 of Death and we are going to do it Saturday. It gets the 5 largest hills in Lehi. Went and partied with Jackie and Adela who are in town.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Ran the Thankful 13 for the third year in a row. It's a well ran 5k with some good food afterwards. I knew Collin would be there but Kobe, Tanner, and Brecken showed up. And we saw Teddy T! Warmed up 3.75.  There wee a bunch of 8 year olds right on the front of the line so I almost trampled a few and had to weave a bunch in the first little while. Found Collin and ran together for the next 2 miles. Hit 5:28 the first mile and then just wanted to keep that, hit 5:33. At 2 miles I moved into the lead, passing Matt Paulsen, and this teenager who was probably putting too much effort into the first two miles of the race. Matt Paulsen is in Matt Todds ward so he told us how dope he was. He won the AF canyon half 2 years ago in 1:07 and kills the marathon too so shout out to him.  Haha he's not in shape for 5k or we woulda won. Well I moved into the lead and gapped Matt and Collin and finished in 16:39. Turned around and saw Collin out kick Matt with a 16:47 or something like that. A lot more fun than the pick ups we would have had. Cool down to 9. Then stood around, got freezing cold, at some pumpkin spice things and got my Medal, Turkey, and more pumpkin spice treats for winning. Fun times with the gang. I'm gonna eat my weight in food today
