4 miles with Asa and Josh then strides and 2x400's at 72,73 in prep for the Connor Arnell Classic tomorrow. Since I am obviously the creator for the connor arnell classic I had some rules in place. Only lit people that were gonna run fast could come, sorry Collin ;)  but then Jamie invited everybody, but not that many people want to do it so its still gonna be sick. Finish to 10 on the rail trail. I think the time has come to retire my blue boosts. I'll break em out here and there but this was the last long run.

Sorta shout out to my boy Asa. He put in all his race reports for the year and he promised me he would blog everyday till state track so thats sick. But he freaking roasted me on twit last night so he only gets a sorta shout out. Speaking of roasting, Asa is fire at it, so he is gonna give out a daily roast. Make sure to check him out at asanielson and give him some views.

PM: The Connor Arnell/Baller Classic. Originally we called it the Arnell Classic, but then someone said the Baller Classic and it had a nice ring to it. Call it whatever you please. 2 mile warm up and stretch and some strides. Josh, who had the sick playlist we were gonna listen to during the race on his phone. Showed up the time we were gonna start the race. Then they tried to get it set up for 20 minutes while we were sitting out in the cold. I did a ton of strides here and there waiting to start the race. They finally ditched it and we started the 5k race on the track.

We wanted to hit 75's and switch off pacing laps. At first it was Michael and Ryan. And we were pretty good but when one would take over they would slow it down once they got in the lead and we were 5:11 the first mile. I needed to hold my end of the pacing, and I didn't want to be a hypocrite and get mad at the slow pacing and never have stepped in. So I took the next two laps and hit a 70 on one of them and tried to speed it up. Then Christian took some and then Ryan again and it was us three together as we had broken off. We were within a couple seconds of 10:11 for the two mile split so about 5:00. Didn't really get any of the splits or times for the third mile. With like 800 to go, Ryan and Christian gapped me just a lil and I closed it. 450 to go I moved to second. Then Christian started to dry heave and I was like ah man. 200 to go I got in the lead and then last hundred Christian passes me and I was like what the heck, 200 meters ago you were dying. He got 15:41, I got 15:42 and it was a really fun time. Beat my time from Bob Firman the only 5k we ran this year, by 1 second. Once we got going I didn't think bout the cold at all, wind was hard. 1.5 mile cool down with CKonetheballer and had a nice talk. He's an awesome guy and hopefully he can have a killer track season cuz he deserves it. National Sandwich Day at subway after. One day off, then small hill workout on Thursday and Tempo @ pre footlocker.

Shout out to Alexis and Megan cuz they're sick. Shout out to everyone that came out and cheered us on, and shout out to David at UtahRun for letting us use the big timer.

PM: 2 mile warm up to the top of pioneer and then to the groval. The workout was 100,200,300 up airport @ 2mile pace. Recovery back and inbetween sets a lap around the groval, 3 sets. It was fun workout with a good gang of guys. Then we headed to the State Volleyball tournament and that was sick as usual. We swept Jordan and Davis so eat that AA.

Ran down af main and then crossed under the freeway thru the hidden pass, then to the af dock at utah lake. Then back the same way. Going out was fast cuz I had the hokas and feeling good, then the legs settled down on the way back. There was this road that was str8 for a mile and a half and was surrounded by trees and the leaves were all orange, cool stuff.

4 mile warm up with Nug which was awesome cuz I felt totally ready to go and we didn't have to wait around after we finished. Just laced up the shoes and off we were. So this was another one of those tempo races, which happen to be so awesome. I hear the cheering more cuz I'm not totally into the race and I can wave at the people I know, fun stuff. So I lead out the first 100 of the race again and then proceeded to run a 5:26 first mile and a 5:27 second mile. Happy with the consistency and that was right were I wanted to be. Third mile pushed a lil more and got 5:23 and sprinted the last .1 on the track to finish in 16:44 and 21st place. Exactly how I wanted it to be. My pine view jersey gave me power. Then 5 mile cool down with Nug and ran some on the course thinking about how thats gonna be the last time we have a xc meet at af. I've had an entire seasons worth of races there. Really good week hitting 69 miles.

After the race I had a good talk with Coach Cobb. After the cooldown we went to Micky D's and drank 6 gallons of powerade lol, then we went to Denny's and it was lit.

Everybody come to the state volleyball championships tonight!
