Race: Dream Mile and a Half (1.5 Miles) 00:08:19
Total Distance

Once again I had alarm troubles this morning and missed the dream mile and a half with the team. So I had Austin ride next to me on his bike. 2 mile warm up with some strides. It was rainy but felt good. I haven't raced the dmh in a while and im getting in better and better shape so I was expecting to beat my old pr of 8:24. Felt good going over the overpass and pushed the downhill. First mile was 5:30. Just tried to keep a good pace going towards the jr high. Pushed hard the last part of airport. The last stretch never felt so long. Finished 8:19, got the pr. Happy with 5 seconds cuz its so frickin hard to pr.

Stopped at the heaps' for some water and then started going and saw jackie doing some pickups so I joined her for a little while till she was done. Went on the MCT for a lil, finished to 10.75

Shout out to Sami for going to cali and missing the rain today. Now i'll have to drink my hot chocolate alone.

Shout out to Brad cuz he's gonna get a blog soon. I'll keep you updated.

Shout out to Austin for help pacing me today and for also getting a 5 second pr in the dmh today.

Nice easy distance run today. Went mostly with Nug cuz the other guys thought we were going to fast for recovery pace, but our avg pace was 7:13 which I dont think is that bad for elite runners like me and nug. Turned left at the four way by bradys and then hopped on the rail trail. Turned around at four out and then did .25 around the high school. Didn't stop after the warm up, i need to do more runs like that. Then lower body workout after with some bench thrown in there for fun. Didn't ice bath today cuz the springs on but I got a bag of ice at my house so may do one later.

Once again shout out to Thom for Protein Shake and computer cred

Shout out to Brad for hitting 20 tramp bball shots from the same spot in a row. He smashed my previous record of 8. It was weird cuz before he hit 20 in a row, he only got to 5.

Shout out again to brad for getting a blog. Just so you know a lil about him, he ran for lehi and graduated the year before I ran my freshman xc season. But before he left on his mish he stayed around and ran with us and coached a lil and stuff and we were buds. Now he has been back for 8 months and he comes and runs with our team to stay in shape and play bball with us and sick stuff. Sadly he will be leaving soon to Snow College but he got a blog so we can see what sick stuff he's doing down there. Hit him up @B-rad Barton.

Happy Birthday shout out to Mama Heaps' father, Grandpa Whiting. We went over to his house in orem today for some sweet family bonding and a game of Phase 10 in which I started out killing it and then crashed and burned.

Mile warm up then headed over to sego lily elementary and ran around the field a lil before our workout. 10x60 seconds @ 5k race pace with 90 seconds rest. Took the ol shoes off which was ok but not the greatest cuz they dont have the best grass. Not exactly sure what my average pace was cuz it was bouncing around a ton on my watch. There were two sharp turns that you had too slow down and then pick it back up. Guessing the avg pace was about 5:10 for the first 7 then we picked it up to 4:50 our last 3. Finished up to 10 at an easy money type pace. Then went over to Ryans for ping pong and bball.

The people who are gonna miss our team race next week ran it today. Me and thom and some dudes went and ran the course. It includes highland glen park and the mct. Then drove back to the high school and ran a couple more miles.

Night run with Justus, Hank, Brad, Collin, Asa, Big T, Chicken Nug. It was a sick run, went to vets and had a nice run around the bases, then back on main. 4.5 miles avg pace 7:31.

Shout out to milesplit that ranked orem and westlake the 5th and 6th fastest schools in utah, with us 11th #hatersgonnahate #lawl

2 miles and then tempo run. 5:30-5:44. It was Me, Thom, and Nug and Brad biked with us. Id didn't bother me that we didn't have as many people in our pack. First mile was 5:41. I was talking and feeling fine and it didn't feel like tempo. Second mile was 5:39 and we lost nug who wasn't feeling great. Third mile was 5:36 and I was still feeling awesome, no problem. Last mile was 5:28. Avg pace 5:36. Felt great the entire time, fastest avg ever even with this being our longest tempo so far. Went out half mile more and then back to the high school. Started raining harder and it was wet but fun, 7:16 avg.

AM: Everybody did pre meet for the race tomorrow. I hit my knee playing basketball so I just did some easy miles.

PM: 2.5 easy. Knee feels pretty good when I'm just jogging, sprintings a little harder. Race should be good.

Shout out to all my homies running at the Cedar All-Comers.

About 1.25 miles warm up with some strides. The course started above highland glen park, by the parking lot of lone peak and then we got on the murdock canal trail for like 1.25, made a u turn and back to highland glen park with a loop around the pond. It's mostly flat. Started off strong but then died a lil the last part. It felt like a workout. It was just me and Thom working together, instead of a lot of guys all around. Was wearing trainers and took this path around the pond to add mileage and you had to take some sharp turns that slowed you down. Hopefully our track is done soon so we can do some workouts on there. Cool down to 8. SOLW.

Shout out to Brad for getting top 5 and for my purple squad for winning the team championship!

Shout out to Strrt cuz he goes into the MTC today so that means that Team Pre loses another alumni. Stewart has always been a great friend to me and I will never be able to repay him. He is one of the, if not thee hardest working people I know. I know he will put in work on the mish and convert many.

2.5 and then 3x3 sets of 90 seconds up airport. Pace was the fastest you could handle for 9 uphills. Inbetween each rep your rest was jogging back down to the start line, got everyone in your group and went again. Inbetween each set you jogged a lap on the groval and then had a minute once you finished the lap. First time I got just passed this sewer grate thing so I made a goal to get there every time. Second time I just barely didn't get there. So third time I pushed it harder and got 10 or so feet passed it to this pole. I thought i pushed it too hard but then everytime after I got to the pole or within feet of it. Happy with the workout because I ran everyone hard and didn't save a ton of energy for the last one. I think I sweat the most I've ever sweat in a workout. Just thought you might want to know that. Finished up 10 and some strides with nugget.

Shout out to Colby Eastmond. One for following me on insta and two for always being the guy yelling at his group to get on the line and go. It was sick to see a young kid fricking taking charge and making sure they weren't slacking. He was pumping me up.

Had practice at 2 but met with Asa, Josh, and Collin to get some miles in before that. 5 miles across pioneer to the Broadhead's at 7:16 avg. After we went to UtahRun and tried on some sick shoes. The Nike Pegasus 31's were only 75 bucks and felt pretty good. Then we tried some green Hoka Clifton 2's and those felt sweet so I went back and bought em. Then we watched Dude Perfect stereotype vids, played Madden, and did some flips on the tramp.

At practice ran 7, my watch was dead so I dont know the pace. Fun last day of summer.

First day of SENIOR YEAR!!!! today. Ran 5 miles while I was "being a teacher aide for jamie" Ran in the ol Cliftons and they felt good. The tongue is weird tho on one of  the shoes so I might switch them out for a different pair. 7:05 avg on the paved trail thing by my house. Its on Redwood Road so im just gonna call it the redwood trail.

After School did mile warm up. Then to the groval for pre meet. One 800. Then finish up miles. Im feeling good for Highland tomorrow. Its the weirdest thing ever thinking this is my last xc season for Lehi. The four years have floooowwwn by. Gonna make every race count.

Shout out to everyone that came to the carb load party. And shout out to Mama Arnell for being the chef. It was sick. Ate tons of good food, played some smash bro's and ping pong. Fun times with the homies.

Wanted to warm up 2 but got a late start so went 1.6 ish. I had been hydrating well all day but still felt kinda tired because of the heat. Didn't get any strides on the line cuz we got there late. We were on the very outside box but I got a decent start so it wasn't too bad.

Race was said to be 2.9 and my card said 5:15 avg. On my gps, a couple steps after I crossed the finish line, I got it for 2.94 and 5:12 avg. My splits were 5:12, 5:14, and 5:08 pace for the .94. Didn't think I was in that good of shape to start the season so I was really happy.

So the first mile was perfect. I just wanted to feel the race out. I was back in place, but I was feeling good so I had energy to move up through out the rest of the race. Me and Ryan were continually passing people the entire race. I dont know if I'd say blew by, but we passed with authority awesome guys like Garret Barton, Payton Riggs, Colter Blanchard and Logan MacKay . Freaking logan tho, he finished only 2 seconds behind me when I was way ahead of him, he always has a crazy kick. Finished 8th place overall and the team finished 3rd ugggghghghghghghhgh!!!!! 3 points behind Timpanogos. Top two got trophies, so once again we fall one place short. Even tho I was disappointed, it was a good overall race and we are gonna improve way more and this season is gonna be awesome.

Shout out to Ethan Field my boy from Sky View. Follow him on insta @efisherf and @my.backyard for sick pics. He got 11th and 15:19! He has improved so much! He killed it so hard.

Shout out to Sam, a new kid on the team that moved from Davis High. One mile warm, then we ran his 4 miles with him, 7:53 avg. He's just getting back into shape, but his pr is 17:40. It was really hot outside (same as what adam said in his blog, shout out to the st geezy guys, 90 degrees kills me) and the air hasn't been the healthiest, so Thom, Nug, and I finished our 3 miles on the treadmill in the fitness center at 7:30 to 7:13 pace.

Everyone tell my Boost awesome job because they are now in the 1000 mile club!!!! #partyemoji's Hopefully my new Hoka's can join them in a few months.

Shout out to Collin for letting Austin and I come hang at his house. I missed the last few days of pull ups so we did 40 and got h*cka swole. Then we played mario kart and smash bros. We started our 99 live fight and put the damage ratio up, but it wasn't enough and we should have just played on super sudden death mode, so bordom got to us at 65 lives remaining. Austin won, I got second, and Collin got third. But I narrowly got the most kills. Austin had 39 and I had 40 :)

Then went to roxberry with the mama and saw my homie Jamison Wilkes! Shout out to him. I'll see him and the LP crew at grass relays next week. Along with AF, Des Hells, Timp, its gonna be a sweet race.

Shout out to my home boy Sean Hagert cuz he's running for the university of miami right now, so make sure you're checking out his blog @d'brickasean

PM: We have our duel meet with Westlake today. Me, Austin, Michael, and Collin got in some miles after school. 1 mile warm up and then 3 on the treadmill cuz it was so hot. Avg pace like 7:30. Then we did our pull ups and push ups.

Warm up 2 miles and then 1.98 mile duel. First mile was 5:39 and then 5:18 for the .98 which is 5:24 pace for the mile. So it was a pretty good tempo. 2 mile cool down. Speed workout tomorrow. Grass relays on Saturday.

WA, but not really a warm up cuz we dont warm up enough, then went to the overpass for 4x800 at goal 5k pace (2:30) Splits were 2:35, 2:28, 2:36, 2:32. I dont really like the workout because going one way is harder than the other and its weird, I'd rather just do it on grass or something. Then went to the track for the last two and got 2:30, 2:30. Then 1 mile cooldown on the track and went and finished to 10.

1.5 when I woke up. Then 1.5 for warm up. This was my third time at the afgr, and both the times before I ran lead off, so it was little different this time. Got the baton with West and Olympus a while ahead and just tried to catch them. West was being lapped and Olympus was actually ahead of us. Caught Olympus about 1200 in. Got thru the gauntlet nicely on the first lap. First mile on my watch (which was prolly a little before the actual mile) was 5:02. Didn't hear anyone yelling out splits. Passed a yellow team I think, sometime. I tried to keep pushing on the gas pedal the entire race, slowed on the second mile but still a good split. I got 5:06 on my watch. Finished in 5th place, 10:18 split according to Jamie. Very pleased. Wanted to get some miles in before awards so we got Garek, the LP squad, Tanner and his friend and did some around the course, then did some more with Collin and the Twins and got to 8 total for the day.

So at awards they never called my name so we were super confused as to what happened. Max Spence from Olympus was 15th and he got 10:27, thats 9 seconds slower than what jamie got me at, how could we be off 9 seconds. Drove back to the high school and ran 6 with Thom to Olympic Park and back to finish up for the day. Then went to Pizza Pie Cafe with Asa, Kobe, and Josh and it was lit #thatdessertpizzatho Once I got home I checked the results and they have me at the 10th fastest split with a time of 10:18. Hopefully it all gets sorted out.

Shout outs for the day: You know I'm gonna be giving my boy Garek a shout out psh. My boy G-Money ran a 9:43 today, which you prolly already knew. I may have shed a few tears.

Shout out to Talon Hull who ran a 9:48, looks like his 3 mile treadmill tempos are working lol

Shout out to my buddies from Lone Peak and Dez Hells. You guys all killed it and it was fun hanging with ya.

Shout out to our varsity girls for taking 6th place!
