Half mile warm up and then stretches. I want another week of recovery so I just ran the warm up and then biked for 45 minutes. Legs felt worked, my butt hurt alot.

I am pumped for this season cuz this year i'm working harder than I ever have and I'm doing the little things. We are gonna be the best we have ever been. We are gonna do everything we can to win state. All out Senior year. This year im going to be first team all-state and I wanna be top 5, so thats what im gonna get. I also want to be top 7, regardless of classification, and our team is gonna qualify for NXN.

Went trail running with Justus, Michael, Austin, and Collin. We went up AF canyon and ran on the timpanooke trail I think. It was sick. The views were amazing. Only 3 cuz it's my first day back and it was a lot of pounding on the legs. But a very fun and sick day of running. Happy National Running Day!

Warmed up half a mile and played the number game, i dont know the actual name, that Davis high school plays. I got 3rd on the first round, I think thats the farthest i've ever made it. Then 4x1 minute intervals on the grass @ mile pace. I didn't know what pace we were going, it was inbetween a sprint and fast jog. Then I finished up miles. My legs felt good, just sore from the downhill yesterday. A bug flew in my eye and it was the worst.

Just an easy distance run with the guys. We ran on the frontage road to the roundabout up the hill by killers and back by the cemetary. I felt fine, 7:21 pace. We have the dream mile and a half on monday so we'll see how that goes.

So today we ran the dream mile and a half. This was like my 6th time doing it, something like that. It is flat for like 400 meters and then we go over the overpass, a small ish hill, and the middle of the overpass is .5. Then we have a gradual downhill. Once you hit this 4 way stop, it starts to incline. It levels out a lil by the junior high, this is about 1.2-3 and then you hit airport hill and its very large. You climb airport and then have 100 meters to the finish. My pr is 8:24. I got 8:43 which i think is good for only having a few days of running under my belt so far this season. I started out pretty good going up the overpass, going down the other side moved into second. Felt strong, I just couldn't kick it into the next gear to get around sub 8:30's. Gapped Austin who was behind me by the jr high, cuz the hill is my strong suit. Over all good performance. Had a snack at thom's house and then headed back.

Shout out to Sir Matthew Todd. He is going into the MTC on wednesday and Im gonna miss him. We have had some sick adventures this past year I've became really good friends with him. He came today for the first time this summer, cuz he was on vacation at Yosemite. He hadn't had a real run in over a month and ran the dream mile and a half today and got right around 9 minutes so great job to him! Matt you kill it and I am gonna miss you and yur fire blog/twitter/insta.

Shout out to Preston the babe slayer Warbeast cuz its his birthday today. Ol Pdawg i've only met you like once, but you are a chill dude and have killer blog.

Didn't have my watch so I think me and garison went six and a half. Garison is actually motivated this year and if he stays that way will be a nice addition to varsity. He did very well his sophomore year, then did nothing junior year. Hopefully all goes well. After we went to Kneaders for the final hoo-rah while matt is still in the country and then we went and balled hard. It was a stellar performance from yours truly. I chanelled my inner lebron who will go off for 42 pts tonight and the cavs will win 94-89. You heard it here first.

Shout out to Athens

A couple miles and then a 3 mile tempo run. Our range is 5:31-5:45. My splits were 5:37, 5:44, 5:41. I like speed workouts better than tempo runs but this one was good. Hit the splits fine, the middle one would have been about the same as the last one but we took a U turn in that one.

Shout out to Me because a few days ago I guessed what the score of the NBA finals game was gonna be, and I was 2 off of everything. I said it was going to be 94-89 and lebron would have 42, and the actual score was 96-91 and lebron had 40. Crazy stuff.

Shout out to these guys for sick performances at the NCAA track and field championships; Jason Witt from BYU placing 3rd in the 10k, only losing to Ed Chesereck and Eric Jenkins of Oregon. Nate Jewkes of SUU placing 14th and Spencer Gardner of BYU placing 16th in the 10k as well. I cant remember his name but some guy from BYU, along with Mike Hardy from Weber qualified for the finals in the 3k steeplechase. Shea Martinez from BYU failed to qualify for finals in the 800 but the field was stacked and she made a very gutsy move with 400 to go to take the lead because the first 400 was slow, and gave everything she had.

1 mile warm up and then a few games of sharks and minnows (yes I did have to look up how to spell minnows) which I got like .25 and some hard surges. Then we ran towards eaglecrest for our distance run. Average pace 7:15, a nice recovery run with a little bit of hills. Got some new Supernova Glide Boosts and they are feeling awesome.

Gonna watch the finals tonight in the ncaa mens track and field championships tonight and the woman tomorrow so i'll have some rad shout outs for you.

Good luck to my homies Austin Tamagno, Carlos Villareal, Destiny Collins, Lucy Biles, and the one and only CONNER MANTZ running in the Adidas Dream Mile tomorrow!

Ran with Collin today. We ran in the heat of the day and it was collins first day back from efy, he had been running but he didn't feel good so it was at 7:31 average pace. We ran up the hill by Devon Moore's house and the church below chicken nugget and matt's house. I felt really good. When we got back to the high school I had some more mileage to do so I did it barefoot around the baseball and soccer fields. Then we went and jumped in the creek.

Shout out to all the people in the dream mile! Also shout out to Ed Cheserek for his double in the 5 and 10k, he now at the end of his sophomore year already has 8 national championships. Also shout out to Andre De Grassi for his double in the 100 and 200, taking down studded fields in both of them. He put up some amazing times, even for being wind aided.

Good luck to Jenna Prandini from Oregon #hearteyeemoji  She will run in the finals in the 100, 200, 4x100 and the 4x400 if they need her. She is the main scorer from oregon and hopes to lead them to the team title

In track on distance run days we had recovery paced runs and distance pace runs, which are just to make sure we are going a good pace and get the legs going but still not too hard. It was a "distance pace" run, our range was 6:45-7:00 and it will get faster as the season goes on. We had a few miles that were slower than 7 but the avg pace with the warm up was 6:58 and thats all that matters.

Today we did whistle hills, 3 sets of 15, 20, and 25 second sprints up a gradual incline. After each one we slowly jog/walk down to the line, have a few seconds and then go again. This workout is all mental and you get out of it what you put in. I pushed it hard and my hamstrings were exhausted. I had a few dry heaves but unlike kobe I didn't throw up. Shout out to him for pushing it and for wearing his galaxy shorts today, so we matched. After we stopped at Jamie's house and got water and finished miles. Ice bath in the creek after. Tomorrow will be a very slow recovery run.

I had a meeting for sports marketing so I ran later by myself. Easy distance run at 7:17 pace cuz my legs were stiff from yesterday. I ran up the long gradual hill by buttscratches house, i guess i'll call it buttscratch hill. It was hot so I took a lot of brakes and stretched out.

Tempo run today with about the same range as last time 5:30-5:45. We ran to willow park and jamie biked next to us to cheer us on and help us stay together. I started my watch once we were up to speed so my first mile was a little faster than others. I got 5:37, same as last weeks. Second mile, Thomas who was incharge of pacing was dying off so we went 5:50. After 2 miles we didnt have to stay together anymore if we were feeling better, so me, collin, and michael split off and finished in 5:26. A little out of the range but jamie was ok with it because the average was good and it was only few seconds under. I felt good and the overall time was faster than last weeks. Next week we will do 3.5 miles. Ran back at a nice easy pace.

Shout out to Collins mom for making us breakfast.

Shout out to Holt for killing the mileage board lately.

Happy Birthday shout out to Kylie Labrum!

Didn't run on Friday or Saturday because i was having some pain in my forefoot. Iced it a lot over the weekend and today it felt much better so I ran. We did the dream mile and a half. To be safe I started out conservative and sped up as I went along. Ended up 5th and getting 9:14. Much slower than last time but I want to be healed all the way. My foot felt fine so im happy. Finished to 6.25 after.

Easy run to north lake park. It's really close to the lake so we trailblazed our way and eventually got to a nice beach like area. I had never been to the lake, so it was cool. Then we ran back and I was more tired than expected. Average pace 7:16

Had our weekly tempo run. This time 3.5 miles. 1.5 mile before and then we started. Michael was the leader this time. I forgot to lap my watch so I only got the second and third miles. Michaels first mile was 5:46. In the second mile I had to stop and tie my shoe so I was 20 seconds or so behind the pack, this took a bunch out of me mentally and I tried to make up some ground so that took even more out of me, so I died. My second and third miles were 6:00 and 6:06. Next time I'll tie my shoes tighter and hopefully it will go better.

Jamie hopped off her bike and joined us along with jackie for our 5 remaining miles. Thank goodness cuz then we had an excuse to go 8 minute miles.

Got to wake up before 4 and ride up on the buses to Tibble Fork. Half mile warm up and some strides to get ready. We had 5 guys running it. Me, Chicken Nuggett, Sean, Asa, and Josh. I was wondering what pace I was gonna go. I ended up just sticking with Sean and Nug for the first part. We were in the canyon for like 8 miles and everything was going great. My splits were

6:05

6:05

6:04

5:50

5:53

5:58

6:02

6:05

Then when it leveled out sean left me and nug and we were getting tired. Behind lone peak nug stopped to go to the bathroom, i got some gatorade and kept going. We hit highland glen park and I was soo tired. A little while after I got the drink I stopped for a moment and stretched. Climbed the only hill on the course and it wiped whatever I had left. Nug passed me with 3 miles to go, something like that and I held on for dear life from there. Other splits went like this

6:22

6:28

6:32

6:35

and 6:59 haha. Didn't stop my watch while I got a drink. But at least it wasn't over 7.

It was a very fun experience! Sean killed it, he got 7th place overall with a 1:16:55, then nug got 1:19:43 and 11th, and I got 1:21:59 a 6:16 avg pace and 17th overall place. Most miles I've ever done haha so I my training wasn't for half marathons but it was a challenging and fun day. Half mile cool down and some strides.

Shout out to the guy who won cuz he ran it in 1:04:24.......thats a 4:55 avg!
