Got to wake up before 4 and ride up on the buses to Tibble Fork. Half mile warm up and some strides to get ready. We had 5 guys running it. Me, Chicken Nuggett, Sean, Asa, and Josh. I was wondering what pace I was gonna go. I ended up just sticking with Sean and Nug for the first part. We were in the canyon for like 8 miles and everything was going great. My splits were

6:05

6:05

6:04

5:50

5:53

5:58

6:02

6:05

Then when it leveled out sean left me and nug and we were getting tired. Behind lone peak nug stopped to go to the bathroom, i got some gatorade and kept going. We hit highland glen park and I was soo tired. A little while after I got the drink I stopped for a moment and stretched. Climbed the only hill on the course and it wiped whatever I had left. Nug passed me with 3 miles to go, something like that and I held on for dear life from there. Other splits went like this

6:22

6:28

6:32

6:35

and 6:59 haha. Didn't stop my watch while I got a drink. But at least it wasn't over 7.

It was a very fun experience! Sean killed it, he got 7th place overall with a 1:16:55, then nug got 1:19:43 and 11th, and I got 1:21:59 a 6:16 avg pace and 17th overall place. Most miles I've ever done haha so I my training wasn't for half marathons but it was a challenging and fun day. Half mile cool down and some strides.

Shout out to the guy who won cuz he ran it in 1:04:24.......thats a 4:55 avg!

Nice job! Way to stretch out the running and try something diff. Kind of like a dude like me jumping on the track or a 5k, usually turns out with some ugliness, but pretty fun to do something out of the norm

Great job Baller, I really enjoyed reading this. Also, you were wondering about my farewell during track season, and I kept forgetting to tell you the details, but it's tomorrow and the information about it is on my blog. It'd be sweet to see you, but I know it's a long drive, so I understand if you can't come.
