Utah County Invite 800. Got there later than I thought I would so I did my warm up around the turf and got 1.5 which isn't the worst but I would have got more. I'm not really an 800 runner but I wanted to go run hard and see what I could get and try to surprise people. I got out good and led the race thru 250 til I let Heston Andersen and Joe Benson pass me. Came thru right at 60. Got the jittery nervous feeling when you start getting close to the finish and you start picking it up and are waiting for someone to really start going. That was with 300 to go. 200 left Heston left Joe and Chris passed me. I knew wanted a medal cuz that would be really impressive for me in the 800. I tried to go after Joe and was giving everything but my legs tied up super bad lol and I finished in fourth which still made me happy. Chris won with a mid 1:57, Heston got 1:57.99 and Joe got 1:59.5. I negative split and finished with a time of 1:59.8! First time breaking 2 and it was awesome. Except for my throat burned the worst it ever has in my life. Super excited tho for the next time I run it.

Didn't really cool down. I didn't get going til after the meet ended cuz we watched the 4x4 and stuff. Did 2 miles around the track while the PG guys were cleaning up. Once they were done we had Tyler, Riley, Ali, me, Collin, Guppy, Asa, and Michael. We did Molly's and it was super sick. Got to 11 for the day. Then we went and got powerade at McDonald's and had french toast at my house.

If I break 2 this season it definitely won't be a negative split. That's impressive.

Just gotta know what super sick Molly's are!???

Also, the fact that you negative split means you could actually go faster. The fastest 800s are done with just a slight positive split.

If you backed off probably 7 seconds on the first lap, I have no doubt you could have ran around 1:51-52

Molly's is what PG called the trail run we did after the meet. And yes it would have been faster to positive split. Hopefully when I run it at region the race goes out faster and I can be in the 1:58's
