2 mile shake out during lunch from Thoms house to almost the highland sign.

Got there and received my jersey from Pine View. Love all you guys. Then ran around the course with the guys team cheering on the girls. Talked some with Garek. Chilled with the team and had fun. Watched the start of guppy's race, went to the bathroom for the last time then 1.5 mile warm. Was going to the bathroom and warm up right around the start of the 3A boys race and didn't get to see them at all! I'm such a jerk. I'll be getting to my shout outs of the guys in that race later on. Didn't know what to stretch, kinda stood around, said hi to everyone that came to support me. I was really relaxed and not overly hyped. Maybe its cuz I only listened to U92 on the bus ride over. I just knew I was gonna do awesome. I'm way too experience to get in a race like this and not do my best. It being senior state just was weird and I didn't know how to feel.

Gun goes off. No restart like last year but I was mentally ready if it happened again. Right where I needed to be the whole first mile, bout 15th on the top of the first hill. Heard Timo say 5:06. Second mile just kinda moved up as usual. Biggest group I passed in one moment was right at the top of the more gradual hill after going around the pond. Then after the u-turn passed Cam. After we made the u-turn by the bathrooms and we had never ran before started to go not as well. I was kinda tired and hadn't looked exactly where we were supposed to go prior to the race, and Talon and Casey were long gone. And everyone was running across the course and didn't even know I was there, but I didn't have any serious problems. But I was running and just saw the flags and no arrows so I hoped that I wasn't running on some part we had run earlier in the race going the opposite direction. A little after that I kinda missed a left turn but recovered quickly. After that I let Adam get a half step ahead of me so I could just follow him and not worry about where to go. My sister yelled to me I was in 4th (Counting me ahead of Adam cuz we had not yet passed Dallin) and I only kinda processed it. Then someone yelled to us Viewmonts dying. We passed him about half way across the back stretch and I made my move and passed Adam about the exact same time. It was just me and him duking it out til the finish from then on. After passing him I really increased the cadence and he tried to match. We hit the blue things and he was only a couple feet behind. In my mind I knew I was gonna beat him the entire time. Not in a cocky way. I just was still feeling pretty good and once I had passed him I knew I wasn't gonna give it back. (But now after the race I know that his pr is 1:56 and in track I gotta make sure I got a bigger gap) Tried not to biff it on the little dip, rounded the corner and pushed it home. 15:20 for what is advertised as a 3 mile course so my average was just under 5:07. And Timo said 5:06 at the mile mark, so that means I ran very consistent. I got 1 second faster at region and they are both 3 miles, but State is WAY more hilly then region so that means I ran decently faster if the distance is correct.

It took a while for it to hit me that I got third. I didn't know what to put in as my goal on the blog so I switched it a couple times from 7 and 5. Ended up getting 3rd in 5A and 7th out of everybody. And I am SO happy for the other guys. EVERY ONE OF THEM RACED AWESOME AND WE GOT SECOND!!! Now that one hasn't changed much I dont believe. That one was on the blog from Day 1, Top 2 bring home a trophy. I've put in a lot of time and effort over these last 4 years and those guys came in clutch and got me a state trophy in my last race and it is awesome. Thank you so much to Jamie and Rachel for being amazing coaches this year. They believed 100% that we could do it everyday of the season no matter what. We are gonna come even better to NXR and go show the whole southwest what we can do.

Shout out to Guppy for getting 14th overall in the 5A girls race!

Shout out to Nick Hill, my boy Hell Raiser for bringing home that State Championship! The whole team found joy in the journey and finished 2nd which is awesome congrats to them.

Shout out to the Pine View girls. Maybe they didn't do exactly how they wanted but they had a very succesful season.

I've gotta congratulate my other homies from St. Geezy Dez Hells for winning the team title. You guys are awesome.

Shout out to my boys at Timp for taking home a title. Will and Joe ran well. I talked about Garek earlier. He's a beast. Not everything went well but he's gonna throw down this post season, you aint seen nothing yet.

Shout out to Davis because they were worthy foes and ran very well.

My boy Ethan Field from Sky View got 5th in the 5A race and 10th overall.

Shout to my teammates cuz I love all of you. My parents.
