Warm up 3 miles and then a little before the duel meet started we had a little speed workout for the guys racing at Pine View. Matt's and I, because our main race is the 2 mile, was 6x400 @ 2mile pace for saturday with 90 seconds recovery. I went faster than 2 mile pace. My times were 70,71,71,70,70,69. On saturday I'm hoping for 8x400's at 72 second average pace with 0 seconds rest because that would qualify me for state. 9:36.95 baby, time to beat! I was looking at who is in it and theres a few guys from timp who are fast, and some of my boys from Woods Cross so we could get a nice pack going and get all of us some killer times. The 400's today felt pretty good. Not a walk in the park but I don't think I was exerting myself too much. After we finished up 10 and then me and matt took an ice bath together. Totes presh. jake k. (that means jk) Shout out to the people that did awesome at the meet today. Sierra throwing 23 feet in the jav and Nathan getting 11:17 in the 2mile.

While some of the other dudes were doing pre meet, matt and I went and did 6x30 second pick ups with one minute off inbetween. At first they were around 5:15 then we got down to 4:30 on the last one. Then I ran some on the track and finished around the town. We leave for St Geezy tomorrow. I am going to qualify for state in the 2 mile on saturday and then a little after run the 800 in the medley. Good luck to everyone running tomorrow

So on the way to the Pine View invite we stopped twice and each time we stopped I got a little jog around the parking lot in to try and make my legs the least sore possible from the bus ride. Once we arrived at the lovely Pine View high school I did pre meet for my two mile with @bwt.2015 and @sirmatthewtodd. I warmed up a lil, then 2*400's at 71,70 then finished up some distance with lucy, but then I saw garek and sarah and chris and did some miles with them. And then I saw my bud Chris Hughes and my new friend Kyle Rummens, both from Woods Cross and had to run some miles with them. After my achilles hurt for the first time ever, I dont know why, so I iced it. Then I chilled for a few hours. This included watching races and gazing at Taylor from Timp because she is a total babe. I dont even know what to say to let you know how much of a babe she is. Then I found out she's a freshman. I still cant believe it. After all the events I did some more miles around the track and did a few strides with hurdles just incase anyone falls and I need to jump over them. When we got to the hotel I took an ice bath and elevated my legs while watching some espn on the stuff happening in the ncaa tournament, crazy stuff.

First day shout outs: Garek ran a 4:19 and never ceases to amaze me.

HOLT! I hope he sees this @holt. I yelled down from our perch and told some pv kids to tell my boy Pdawg Warby Connor says hi, and holt just yells over to me from the track "Are you connor baller!?"  and I was like "Ya are you Holt!?" it was awesome, I'm frickin famous :) So ya I eventually found warbeast and hell raiser and paul and wait a minute, it just occured to me that I didn't meet controversial cam...wait the frick is wrong with me. And I also met the Desert Hells kids like Jaiden, Josh Thatcher who couldn't pronounce my name, Kale and Sage Dew-coat-aye (who I later learned was a friging savage #nochill) So it pretty much was a blog reunion, or blog meet in person gathering type thing.

Sean and Thomas and Ryan all did well in the mile.

Maddie ran the mile and placed 4th overall

Josh Collins got a meet record in the mile, 4:16 decent

Heading over to the high school I felt pretty good. Warmed up 2 miles. My goal for the race was to state qualify. I didn't really care about just getting a pr. State qualifying is 9:36.95. So I needed to hit 72's. But the race went out super slow. I got out good and was right up in the front, come around and its a 72. Ugh. I was supposed to have a few seconds cushion after the first lap. Then our second lap is a 76. Ugh. After a few laps of this Josh Collins finally took the lead and upped the pace. After the first mile I was 4:54 which is six seconds too slow. After that I kind of gave up a little bit which I shouldn't have done cuz I ended up getting within almost a second and a half of state and thats not a lot, so I think I could have gotten it if I had kept telling myself I could still get it. Back to the race. So we pushed the middle laps cuz the slow start. I didn't see exactly what the clock said right as I hit the line with one lap to go, I just saw it at 8:24 when I still had some left. I kicked hard the last lap and caught a woods cross kid with 300 left and with 100 left I pulled up beside Koy from Timp and we were both going as hard as we could. I turned on the jets and beat him. My time was 9:38.64. 1.69 seconds off of state. So my last lap was a 64. If I keep that last lap but push one of the middle laps 1.69 seconds faster I would have got it. But its over and I'll just go qualify at Utah County. My achilles hurt after on my run so I iced it. Few hours later I got ready to run the medley, but we went out of the exchange zone on the first hand off.

Second day of Pine View shout outs: Audun won the 300 hurdles so thats hot.

Brady got a wasatch girls number. To bad he told her he was a senior and now she wont text back.

Kaysha love won everything this weekend, including our arm wrestle sadly. Now she is trying to slay Brady so we'll see how that goes.

Chris Kauffman cuz he got a 2:01 in the 800 and had a killer kick to win his heat.

Paul Gaona killed it in the 4x4. They dropped the baton but then he kicked trash and made it up and looked like he was hauling
