AM: Stayed over night in a small town about a half hour from St. George so I headed over to Pine View for the morning run with the homies. Did the famous Starbucks fun. 4 miles and then did a half mile after. It was a very nice turn out and an awesome time.

PM: 5.5 miles on my kinda usual run towards Aunt Eva's old house. It was hot and my foot hurt so not the best run but I wasn't hard to hit a faster pace.

Drove to University of Redlands to do the workout. Their track/stadium was beautiful.  Shout out to my mom cuz while I was running she was running up and down the bleachers getting buff. 4 miles warm up then 3x400,200 at mile pace. Hit 65.1-32.3-64.1-30.3-63.5-30.4. Went in the early afternoon so it was hot, but not as hot as last night. I was gonna wear my spikes for the last one but my foot hurt on a couple of the reps so I kept the trainers. Cool down to 8.5

My mom and brother are going to the beach and I'm staying home so I don't get worn out before my race. Shout out to me for having my priorities straight #neveronvacation

My mom got on this Moreno Valley run walk jog thing where people put in their fav routes. So we looked at the streets that a lot of people liked going on. She rode the bike next to me and we made a nice loop. Headwind toward the end and ran by a really busy school but other than that it was all Gucci. 8.25 at 7:11ap

PM: Biked 10 miles along side Ryan, Thomas, and Papa Heaps on the same route I did this morning.

AM: 2 mile shake out by Morrison Park. If you guys ain't suckas and are cool with the Jack and want to watch the squad run, we will be throwing down in the 4xMile tonight at 10:48 Utah Time. Just go to Arcadiainvitational.org and they will be live streaming it.

PM: Arcadia Invitational 4x1600 meter. 1.25 warm up, got to 1.5 with the strides. We were the last team on the list in the invite so I don't know if that means we were supposed to be the slowest? But we were on the very outside of lane 9 so Ryan did his best to get in a decent position. He ran great, split a 4:25 and we think got 9th. Collin for the second meet in a row ran insanely good. He got a 4:23 high. Thomas went out hard in a 61, held on and ran really well in a 4:24 and got me the baton in 8th right behind two other teams.

I sat on them for the first lap, it was a 61 but didn't feel very fast. The second lap I could feel the pace slow but didn't want to pass them. Fricking Connor. That one was a slow 68. Third lap I passed them and obeyed Papa Heaps command of going after a green team a little ahead. I can't remember when I passed them but looking at Mama Heaps pictures I think it was with about 300 to go. Was kicking pretty good but then on the last 100 I saw a shadow coming up behind me and said freak no you are not gonna pass me. Held off the green jersey that was coming back up. Split on the website was 4:18.9. Happy with it but it could have been faster if I hadn't sit behind the teams on the second lap.

Not sure what place we finished. Someone thought we got 5th after and I just said let's watch the board cuz I wasn't sure and didn't want to get my hopes up. But we got 5th! I was so hyped! 5th at a meet like Arcadia is pretty sweet so shout out to the guys for killing it. And top 5 got medals too. I got one last year from my 3200 but that was just an open one, this time it's the legit invitational medal.

Shout out to the Twins for both running hard in the 3200 and to Timp and Lone Peak for getting top 10 in the 4x16 which is sick to have 3 Utah county teams in the top 10.

Everyone can go like my pick on insta, and also notice that Squally Canada (who plays for BYU and has caption credit for the first part of the pic) commented on it lol

AM: 4 mile shake out with Papa Heaps and Thom with some strides at the end.

PM: Arcadia Invitational Seeded 3200 meter. Warmed up with Ryan. We got 2.5 which was really good. Felt ready to go. I planned on going out towards the back. I did. I figured the race would go out fast and I just wanted to work my way up. It didn't go out extremely slow but it was slower and then stayed pretty consistent over the entire race. And I did end up moving well in the race. It just all ended up coming in the last 400 mostly lol.

I wore my watch and lapped it each lap so I could have my splits. 68.9-70.1-70.8-68.9-70.1-69.0-68.3-didn't get that one but the Lone Peak coach had me at a 61 and my dad had me at a 61.03. So I finished with an official time of 9:07.59. My previous best was from this meet last year of 9:27 so it was a pr by about 20 seconds (19 and change if you want to get technical) Since it went out slower and Arcadia has so many entries so there are 30 guys in the race, it was super packed and I spent a ton of energy moving around from lane one to two. I was trying to stay on the inside but the other guys wouldn't stay in the same position, they kept cutting back and forth so I didn't want to get boxed in and cut off, it was weird. Another weird thing. At the 200 meter point on the track there was a giant puddle. It was wet everywhere else but there it was inches deep and everybody was soaked lol.

So um ya I just tried to stay consistent and keep with the pack. I think the big part of my race was in lap 7, I made a good surge to get in a better position for my final kick. And you can see it in my splits. The 7th lap was my second fastest according to my watch. So then with 400 to go, my mind was ready to throw down and start going it was just if my body would go with it. And thank goodness my legs felt great. A guy in an orange and black jersey I didn't know, he started moving so I latched onto him for the curve and then started moving. Got going really well on the back straight and passed a lot of the pack. With 200 meters to go I realized I went from like 4th to last a little earlier to 5th and top 5 get medals and a medal in the seeded would be so sick so I tried to not get passed. I went by both the Odgen kids and Dylan Scarsone my friend from footlocker and finished 2nd! It was better than I ever thought I could have done. With outdoor not having gone that great so far leading up it was the race I needed. And I know the times are fast cuz sea level, but compared to the competition we did awesome in the 4x16 and the 32 was great.

Shout out to Thomas for running an awesome 32 and getting 9:27, keeping up with what I did last year. Shout out to Ryan for doing alright I guess I'm the 32 ;) lol 9:14s aight for a sophomore haha

Shout out to Zerickson and Jamison who ran 9:09 and 9:12!!!! fricking heck, in the rated race.

Casey won the 3200 invite so shout out to him. He always amazes me.
